Progressive House | Twenty One Pilots – Guns For Hands (Dzeko & Torres Remix)
Posted by J-Tiffy on September 10, 2013
Dzeko & Torres were right on the money with this track. I love the vocals from the original song, and this remix really uses them in an awesome way. The vocals and melody were ripped out of the original, and then pumped full of enough energy and feel-good vibes to make you groove, even in the worst of moods. The main synth line is so well engineered, and when it sneaks in it gets right under your skin and doesn’t give you the option to not feel this tune. It’s a festival sized progressive house track with a righteous heart. This track moves me, and I know it will make you move. Do not sleep on the Maarcos remix included in the package as well. His track “Blaze” got heavy support this summer and this remix only continues his streak of great productions.

Progressive House | Morten – Look Closer
Posted by Middy on August 21, 2013
Morten called this one a “timeless piece” to us and we will let you decide on your own what you think, but after several delays, Morten’s debut on Ash Pournouri’s PRMD label with “Look Closer” is here. A melodic track that is built for the summer, it does not try and overwhelm you with loudness and obnoxious bass, but rather leads you along with a subtly complex melody and a vocal top line that complements perfectly.
Bass, Chill | Gero – Turn Around (feat. Kullai Timi) (Satin Jackets Remix)

Satin Jackets always deliver with their remixes. This time they went at it with Gero’s latest release “Turn Around” featuring Kullai Timi, and they bring the funk. Give this track a minute to build, and you’ll be submerged with cool piano chords, Satin Jacket’ signature guitar line, and a bass that’s going to make you grimace in a good way like somebody farted. Get into the groove, and start your week off right, we got you! Thanks Satin Jackets for always getting it right, this is a must listen, and support by copping this track on Beatport!

Events, Review | Paris & Simo @ Lavo NYC 7/27/13 (Review)
Posted by Middy on August 6, 2013
Anybody familiar with high-end nightlife in NYC, knows Lavo and its reputation for an incredibly strict door, good-looking patrons, over-priced drinks and top-line DJs. There are plenty of places in NYC with the first three, but few have added the last one to their repertoire.
On this particular night, I was a bit sluggish from getting home from a rather aggressive night of drinking with Moiez the night before, thus I was hoping Paris & Simo would bring it to keep me going. After quickly crushing a Red Bull at a nearby Duane Reed, a walked down the familiar block of 58th in between Park & Madison, seeing drunk dudes and chicks spilling out of cabs and town cars, yelling at each other as if their hearing was already gone before they made their way into the proper line. Navigating the line is an art, pushing your way through entitled VIPs and b-rate models, just hoping to be seen by somebody, it is your job to be noticed in the mixture of plastic…. and plastic.
Progressive House | Pierce Fulton ft. Polina – Where We Were
Posted by Middy on August 5, 2013
Pierce Fulton is back with yet, another great single. Tabbing vocalist Polina, who boasts tracks like Afrojack, Kaskade, Tiesto and Michael Woods, she provides a female top line the track seemed to need. Pierce does his magic with a soaring melody and rolling bass line, adding his first single to his discography since the uplifting “Wanna Be” with Maor Levi back in April.

Progressive House | Marco V – Krezy
Posted by Middy on July 29, 2013
I believe they spelled “Crazy” wrong when titling this song, but hey it happens. Living up to its name, the track from the eclectic and highly-prolific Marco V, relies on a bouncy bass line, powerful chords and a short and to the point vocal. Fedde le Grand (alongside Funkerman & Raf) have a knack for signing under radar tracks that do quite well, and Marco V has doing this at a high level for quite some time, so this has a chance to be the next big one for both parties.

Progressive House | Don Diablo & Matt Nash – Starlight (Could You Be Mine)
Posted by Middy on July 26, 2013
With “Reverie” still making waves worldwide, Axwell wastes no time and releases another track from his riches of unreleased songs, keeping the always impressive label on the tip of everyone’s tongues this summer festival season. This track from Dutchman Don Diablo & Scotsman Matt Nash is a tough, yet tasteful cut that uses gritty bass electro stabs, a sturdy bass line, distorted vocals and easy builds to provide a relief from the festival drops seen around the circuit these days. Look for an Otto Knows remix “rumored” to be coming later this summer.
