This track is a f*cking monster. With sounds this large I couldn’t even begin to fathom the level of chaos a track like this would foster in a live setting. This heavy handed Canadian duo are showing no signs of slowing down and releasing another free original is pushing them closer to the limelight. The two have taken a unique turn with their sound, incorporating bits of funk, futuristic bass, nu-disco, and dubstep to create a syncopated synapse. Here, have a taste for yourself.

Hip-Hop | Big Sean ft. Kendrick Lamar & Jay Electronica – Control

bigs-400x400

This is the reason you don’t have Kendrick Lamar feature on one of your tracks. He WILL outshine you. This is the best I’ve ever heard Big Sean rap, yet he still gets shown up by Kendrick. K.dot tears the beat up for about 3 minutes before finally passing the flame for Jay Electronic to do his thing on it, and he does. But the limelight still belongs to Kendrick Lamar. He is the only rapper who can get away with calling himself the king of New York even though he grew up 3,000 miles away. But the best part about it, is that nobody is going to do anything about it, and they can’t, because Kendrick Lamar runs the rap game, and he won’t let any of us forget it. Pre-order Sean’s new album here but be aware that this gem will not be appearing on it.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Ty X Gspence – We Back (Video)

Posted by on January 4, 2012

It’s been months since we’ve hear from the rapper/producer duo Ty x Gspence. After the success of their last project, the two decided to leave the limelight for a bit to develop their sound even more. While Gspence spent the last few month producing over 100 potential beats for this project, Ty has been focusing on refining his flow. The hard work that these two have put in is evident in their new single We Back off their upcoming mixtape Ivy League Kids… Good Aftermorning… . Check out the video, and stay tuned for the track release.

Hip-Hop | Deon Chase – Grind Music (Prod. By Dres’more)

Posted by on August 25, 2011

An increasing number of young guns seem to be emerging with quality material these days. Deon Chase is undoubtedly one of the better 16 years olds we’ve heard on FNT so needless to say, he’s in a ripe position to take a stab at the limelight. Not only does he have a smooth flow, but he’s also working off original beats rather than samples – that’s quite a feat if you ask me. Don’t take my word for it, just tune into the new cuts below.

Electro | Foster The People – Pumped Up Kicks (Gigamesh Remix) | Electro

Gigamesh took the scene by storm with his 2009 remix of Mike Posner’s hit “Cooler Than Me”. Ironically, Gigamesh’s touch made it so much cooler than the original that it stole most airwaves. Although Gigamesh slipped out of the limelight, he’s still been producing some epic remixes like the two below (plus the previously posted bangers). Turn up the speakers because these funky electro remixes will make you want to dance. For additional information and timely updates, tune in to his Facebook page.

Hip-Hop | Divine Rhyme – Loungin’ | Chill Hip-Hop

Posted by on June 13, 2011

Divine Rhyme seems eerily similar to a gnarly artist I can’t put my finger on, can any of you FNTers out there throw me a bone with this one? If you missed this duo the first three times around the site, don’t slip up again (and yes I’ve thrown some previously posted tracks for those of you that fall under this category). I’m always taken away by these guys crisp production of chill beats backed up with strong lyrical skills. Rather than continuously pumping out tracks to stay in the limelight, Divine Rhyme meticulously refines their tracks until they’re satisfied with the end result. For more information, check out their Facebook Page.

Illiphant and Scribe The Verbalist fall under a similar sound as Divine Rhyme so it only seemed fitting to throw them into this post. From what I can tell, Integrated Visuals is one of Scribes first public works but in my opinion it’s his best. To check out his other projects head over to his Facebook. Shouts to @BigDaddyAw for the tip.

Electro, Reggae | Nelly – Just A Dream (DJ Rich-Art Remix) & Bonus Reggae | Electro

I know a club remix doesn’t perfectly fit in with a typical Sean Paul song, but I didn’t feel like either of these deserved the single post limelight. Perhaps I’m wrong. Both are quality tracks that deliver what you’d expect. If you’re seeking party fuel, give the DJ Rich-Art remix a shot. And if you’ve been longing for some Sean Paul – “If It Isn’t Love” will quench your thirst for a minute.
