Progressive House | Laidback Luke feat. Martel – We Are The Stars (Club Mix)
Posted by Middy on June 7, 2012
Laidback Luke the dutch electro house master has given us a follow up to the club track “1234” with “We Are The Stars”, the official anthem for Heineken commercials this summer. It will be the anthem of the EURO 2012, which shows the growing trend of Djs capitalizing of their growing popularity and becoming more involved in commercial activities and getting sponsorships, like true musical superstars. “We Are The Stars” provides a festival friendly melody, a varying bass line in classic Laidback Luke fashion and quality male vocals from Martel giving the track serious sing a long potential. Since this is the EURO 2012 anthem, who do you think will be holding the trophy come July 1st?

Electro-House | Sato Goldschlag – Mr Mister feat Wynter Gordon (Laidback Luke remix)
Posted by Middy on May 30, 2012
Nothing cheers you up after a day of a delayed 9 hour international flight with too much turbulence and crying kids like seeing this absolute monster in my inbox for download and the follow-up email saying it can be given away as a free download. Sato Goldschlag had been warning me about something big at Ultra and they were not kidding with this massive remix from Laidback Luke premiered at the festival. Laidback Luke keeps some of the original synth melody put down by Sato Goldschlag, while utilizing Wynter Gordon’s angelic vocals as well as anyone can. He then adds grimy, grungy low end synth chords and a prominent string melody with a varying bass line that completely changes the character of the track from a poppy house track to knock you out of your chair electro house banger.

DJ-Set, Events, House | Inox Festival Toulouse Sets
Posted by Middy on May 12, 2012
Starting off the festival season early and right, Inox Festival in Toulouse France brings together some of the best talent in EDM, bringing in fans from not just all over France but also all over Europe such as Spain, Italy, and Romania. It was a three night weekend festival at full capacity all three nights with the likes of Eric Prydz, Hardwell, Dada Life, Laidback Luke, Swanky Tunes and many more gracing the decks. There was something for everyone with techno, house and minimal being very well represented with Sven Vath, Stephan Bodzin and many more. Of the three nights Eric Prydz had to be the best set just because it is so rare to see him as an American, though he will be touring the states this summer on ID Fest, Swanky Tunes putting together an outstanding set from start to finish with brand new tracks, and Dada Life and Sebastien Benett bringing the highest energy sets, forcing me to walk home at 8am covered in vodka and champagne after Dada Life. The whole thing was madness and after the whole festival I felt like I had been hit by an 18 wheeler for about 2 days, but it was worth it with the amazing artists that graced the decks. Sets were recorded on Fun Radio, so the shouts will be in French, but enjoy these crazy sets. Some of the sets below and more of them and the tracklists after the jump. Eric Prydz set was not recorded.
Electro-House | Laidback Luke – 1234 feat. Chuckie and Martin Solveig
Posted by Middy on May 7, 2012
This track from quite the power trio in Chuckie, Laidback Luke & Martin Solveig is pure dance floor madness. The grinding synths, progressive chord progression, pounding bass line, air horns and vocal bit done by the three Djs create the madness contained in this track. This song has been a necessity for a large number of big name Djs like Tiesto, David Guetta, Dada Life etc and with the crowd reaction it is easy to see why this should be a go to energy track this summer. After the jump check out an interview with Laidback Luke about how he made the track and the response to it.
