Bass | Draeden Makes His Original Debut With Conquest EP

Posted by on July 15, 2019

The Montreal producer Draeden has made his original debut with the four part Conquest EP. Released on Kannibalen Records, this project technically sees Draeden return to the imprint after an official remix for Sullivan King that was his first official release. The remix was incredible, but in seeing Draeden work with completely original material and bringing to life a concept EP like Conquest is magnificent. Draeden’s multi-genre approach blending classical with bass for a truly cinematic sound is something special that I hope to hear more of very soon! For now, I’ll be enjoying Conquest to the fullest.

Chill, Cover | Apashe & Cherry Lena Cover Classic “Feeling Good”

Posted by on November 16, 2018

“Feeling Good” was made popular by Nina Simone back in the mid 1960’s, but came out before that via a musical. Since those days it’s been covered by countless talents, but this newly released take by Apashe and Cherry Lena sticks out above the rest. Apashe’s tasteful interpretation of the composition matches the next level performance by Cherry Lena. Some might not think to put these artists with such names as Michael Buble, John Coltrane, MUSE and of course Nina Simone, but that’s just where they belong. So, click play and start feeling good!

Bass | Apashe & Black Prez Return For Second Collab “Do It”

Posted by on September 26, 2018

Apashe’s Requiem EP was an epic collection of works unlike anything I had heard before. It couldn’t have been an easy project to follow up, but that’s just what Apashe is doing with his new single “Do It.” The emcee Black Prez returns to Apashe’s side on this one which takes a harder route than their previous track together. Here Apashe delves more into the dubstep world with a gritty bassline that still retains a melodic catchy sound. Not only is it a dope record, but it comes with a message that’s fairly obvious, as well as one that isn’t until you hear the very end of the record. So go on and click play!

Bass, House | Lektrique Drops EP With Epic Sam Lamar Collab

Posted by on September 6, 2018

The Belgian producer Lektrique has long been a creative that has pushed bass music forward despite not being a name that everyone may recognize at first mention. The Kannibalen Records mainstay and radio host is taking his career to the next level, not only with epic tracks including the two that make up his Black Magic EP, but he has recently moved to Los Angeles to hold things down on the West coast. Now, the move doesn’t work for everyone, but given his talents and the success he’s already had, he’s set to flourish. Just take this first project since the relocation as an example of what’s to come. Both tracks, including the Sam Lamar collab, are next level and we’re sure to see the bar raise even further soon.
