There aren’t many guys who have created trends and styles in dance music today. Seven Lions’ patented brand of melodic dubstep has quickly become one of the go-to styles for a throng of copycats and established producers alike. After transitioning from metal to electronic music, Jeff Montalvo made his presence felt in a huge way with his Beatport competition winning remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, that would launch his career and open doors that were not even on possible for him to reach before.
We caught up with Seven Lions on his tour bus before he was slated to go on at Pier 94 on Halloween with Krewella, Gareth Emery, Candyland and Cash Cash. We chatted about his upcoming plans, including taking time off from touring next year, touring in general, releases he has coming up, music piracy and much more.

He has decided to release singles over the entire process of making the album, bringing the fans along his creative journey of making the project. I’ve been increasingly overwhelmed lately with the amount of good music accumulating out there in the universe so I’ve found bundling them up in little care packages to be the best solution to curing all the quiet moments in your day to day routine. Rudimental have taken the world by storm. Their single “Feel The Love” rose to the top of the charts in the UK and became a worldwide phenomenon. They have not stopped there with a host of other chart topping singles like “Not Giving In” and “Waiting All Night”. Their live show is about as energetic and “live” as there is in dance music, bringing what they call “a carnival atmosphere” to every festival and city they visit. The foursome have come a long way with their album “Home”, showing their strong UK dance influences, while keeping it soulful and unique on every track.
We had the chance to chat with them after their show with Emili Sandé two weeks ago in Central Park and talk about their incredible music videos, trying to build on their success and what they have coming up, including tracks with The Game and Ed Shereen. Here is some chill music for your Sunday. Isoline absolutely takes your mind on a journey with this remix of “People Help People” by Ruth Granton. It’s part of her “People Help People EP” featuring two other remixes and the original track. Isoline’s version is by far my favorite. Caught this one a few days late, but it’s funky enough that it still deserves some recognition! This is some really sexy trap for your Tuesday. It’s smooth, uplifting, and full of pleasing synth work. The song flows really well with the samples used, and the whole takes the listener on a journey in their mind. It’s also free to download!
