Chill, Indie | Prelow – For The Team
Posted by admin on January 22, 2014
After a semi-intelligent child turned me on to their music a few weeks back, I have been absolutely hooked on Prelow. The mysterious band has only one public track on their SoundCloud, but the heavily-produced indie tune “For The Team” has me begging to hear more.
Lead vocalist, Jesse Aicher, whispers sweet nothings in to your ear as the song progresses. His soft, melodic voice complementing the hazy electronic instrumental to make a sound unlike much of what I have heard coming out of the indie genre.
The duo, although seemingly new to the scene, clearly has a natural cohesion, and a knack for making intriguing music. I encourage you all to check out Prelow’s “For The Team” and stay tuned for more from the NYC-based group.
Progressive House | MS MR – Ash Tree Lane (Live City Remix)
Posted by Middy on January 8, 2014
Generally, Live City bring the heat with relentless aggressive electro stompers that attempt to blow you out of your chair, but it always nice for artists and fans to get a change of pace in a producer’s discography. Like their recent remix for London Grammar “Strong“, Live City add an easy going progressive melody that carries through the indie original. MS MR have not been over remixed, so this will be a breath of fresh air in your playlists and best of all it is FREE.

The Ivy League graduate Elephante released his latest remix of “My Friends” by The Soundmen, and he continues to demonstrate why you should all be keeping an eye on the young producer. “My Friends” is a surf friendly indie-pop record that one might compare to Passion Pit, and Elephante adds a hint of Anthem House to make this track available to the DJs and EDM lovers. Give it a listen! Oh and if you want to catch the man live in the mix, you have no plans yet for New Year’s, and live in New York City, check him out at The DL bringing in the new year’s! This is a must download!

Electronic, Indie | Boombox – Waiting Around
Posted by yabishcic on December 16, 2013
‘Waiting Around’ is a funky, electronic indie song from the live band / DJ hybrid duo Boombox. It is the first single off their upcoming album Filling In The Color, set to come out January 14th. This song incorporates a large amount of live band elements from guitar solos to horns leaving us with a jam inspired twist reminding me of The Grateful Dead, which isn’t surprising with Guitar / Lead Vocalist Zion of Boombox being the son of two members from the group (Keith and Donna Jean Godchauxt).
House | Strange Talk – Climbing Walls (Viceroy Remix)
Posted by Middy on December 11, 2013
In honor of his birthday this past weekend, Viceroy has given out a gift to his fans in the form of this remix. It sticks to his summertime, all the time attitude, to music adding and laidback electronic flavor to this indie original from Strange Talk. It may be getting cold outside in the Northern Hemisphere, but that does not mean the tunes have to reflect the falling temperatures.

House | AObeats & Manila Killa – Perfect Strangers (Kastra Remix)
Posted by Middy on December 9, 2013
The original samples the vocals from The Knocks breakout single, “The Feeling” and now those vocals go through another remix treatment. Kastra keeps the indie-dance flavor of the original, but adds an upbeat twist to it with a bed of driving chords over the cheery melody from AObeats & Manila Killa. The remix is a freebee by just giving him a like on Facebook, so grab it below. Check out the preview for his acid-fueled remix of Novaspace feat. Marie L “Give It Up” coming December 16th.

Indie, Progressive House | The Colourist – Fix This (The Chainsmokers Remix) [Preview]

The Chainsmokers continue with their rapid pace of releases with a remix to The Colourist’s “Fix This”. It has a similar same vibe as many of their previous indie-house tracks but instead of the light, cheery sound that is usually a custom to them, it has a bit of a darker tone. It is an official remix but the label told them they didn’t want the song available for sale or free download so as of right now, it is streaming only.
