Aash Mehta just dropped his newest mix, thanking fans for the support on his debut EP that we talked about here. From Aash himself, “Here’s a little thank you for all the love you’ve shown! I got a bit tired of the traditional summer mixes filled with tropical house or piano powered drops, so today, I decided to record my own!”. This mix takes you on a journey, blending genres from future-house, progressive-house, and even trap! Check out the mix now, and I have it on good authority to tell you there’s an unreleased ID from Aash hiding in there somewhere as well!

Elephante has already taken 2016 by storm, releasing originals, mashups, mixes, and expanding his live show. Today, he gives us “Closer” – a brand new original featuring the vocal talents of Bishøp. If it sounds a little familiar, this is one of the unreleased ID’s that Tim included in the “Zoo Vol 2” back in January. While definitely different than the Phante we’ve grown accustomed to, it still contains that powerful electronic sound we’ve come to love. This one is a free download, so grab it now and be sure to bump it at your next party!

Earlier today, Source Recordings released an “ID” song, “Jolene,” on their SoundCloud, and they instructed fans to Shazam it to find out who the artist was. It turns out that it’s Amsterdam’s Ferreck Dawn, who’s a tech-house specialist known for tracks like “Another Day.” Despite his past work, Ferreck explores deep house territory on this new number that’s actually a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” If you’re looking for a groovy house track with a touch of vintage flair, have a listen to this above. “Jolene” will be released next Friday, the 28th!

House | Who Is Behind This Flute-Laden Tech-House Groove, “Mr. TOOT”?

Posted by on April 14, 2015

A nameless newcomer has maintained his secretive allure with a new single, “Mr. TOOT.” By incorporating the flute from Astor Piazzolla’s famous masterpiece “Tango Study,” this producer meshes tech-house with one of the 20th Century’s greatest composers to create an excellent, versatile song that what we now know as “Mr. TOOT.” It seems like this is just the beginning for this mystery artist, and I think it’s safe to say that we can expect to see more from him/her in the future, but who is this artist anyway?

Oliver Heldens. What can be said about him that we haven’t already said already? We routinely sing his praises. Pete Tong finally invited Oliver to drop an essential mix for BBC Radio 1. The whole mix is really incredible. He incorporates his own hits with obscure house tunes. I could go on and out about how good this mix is, but you’ll only understand when you choose to listen to it. Tracklist below.

Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – ID2

Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman - ID2
No this is not some ode to a bygone era of constant Avicii IDs, this is simply just the name that has become branded to this tune, including on radio tracklists and to retitle it might damage the effect of the release. Let’s hope it doesn’t start a trend of artists releasing songs legitimately called “ID” because that would cause some serious problems for guys like Eric Prydz. Size has been on fire this year with their usual suspects of high energy tunes, but also a new smattering of deeper, groovier tunes that have escaped the clutches of his newly formed We Are All X imprint. In the mold of those big progressive tunes, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman return for their 4th release on the label, first since April’s smash single “Payback” that still echoes around the few remaining festival grounds and now filled arenas & concert halls. Expect to hear “ID2” plenty as the year closes out.

Another note worth mentioning, their Tom Ordell remix that was previewed last summer will finally get a release date soon, so stay tuned to Vangelis & Wyman’s socials for details.
