Progressive House | Mario Larrea feat. Jennifer Levy – Belief (Original Mix & Chris Lake Edit)
Posted by Spice on July 9, 2012
Chris Lake and the team at Rising Music bring the fire with this latest release from Mario Larrea. With a catchy, driving hook, powerful vocals, and a pounding four-on-the-floor break after the drop, “Belief” seems tailor-made to stir up a crowd. Chris Lake’s edit gives Jennifer Levy’s vocals a slightly more stripped-down backdrop but still keeps the energy level high. Real talk, there’s also something about this that reminds me vaguely of 90’s eurodance (particularly at the bridge) — perhaps it’s the quality of Jennifer Levy’s voice or the generically feel-good lyrics. I can’t put my finger on it. But regardless, I’m feeling it.

Hip-Hop | Beau Young Prince – Salty Air
Posted by J_Salzer on May 9, 2012
Beau Young Prince hits us with another solid song leading up to the release of his mixtape, Dream Chasers. Although it’s only about two minutes long, the song features a solid amount of bars because of it’s lack of a hook or chorus. This song is the definition of chill. I hate using that word to describe songs, because it’s so vague, and I feel like everyone and their mother is “chill.” But i don’t think that anyone can argue with me after hearing Salty Air. I hope Dream Chasers includes songs resembling Salty Air. And if it does, you’ll see it on Fresh New Tracks come it’s release on May 13th.
Hip-Hop | Ryan Leslie- Rain In Australia (Video)

“It’s warm when it’s cold, cold when it’s hot. You can feel it when it’s real and you know when it’s not.”
What in the world is going on. Listen, Ryan Leslie is a musical genius. I love everything he puts out. This though… this is just plain bad. This is almost as bad as something an average white rapper would send me in an e-mail blast. And the hook. What is going on with that sub-part auto-tuned mickey mouse making in rain in the club all night hook. It’s horrendous. It’s a dark day for Ryan Leslie fans, but the night is darkest just before the dawn. I’m just not sure the dawn is coming for Ryan Leslie “Les is More” album. Yikes…
House, Mashups | Kaskade vs. Sandro Silva & Quintino – Call Out Epic (Kaskade Mashup)
Posted by Spice on April 23, 2012
Wasting no time after a whirlwind month of festivals, Kaskade is back and hitting the ground running to bring us an awesome, high energy track he dropped at Ultra and Coachella. In this latest addition to his growing body of sick mashups, he weaves together the ethereal vocals from “Call Out” with the thumping hook from Sandro Silva & Quintino’s aptly titled classic “Epic” (which you probably recognize from the Youtube tour de force better known as the Tomorrowland after move). The result is indeed epic. Kaskade’s Freaks of Nature tour kicks off in Vegas in a little over a month, so cruise to the website and find out if he’s coming to your city.
Electro-House | Oliver Twizt and Sandro Silva – Gladiator
Posted by Spice on April 5, 2012
Oh. Hell. Yes. I’ve been counting down the days until this release and now it’s finally upon us. What is “Gladiator,” you ask? Basically it’s what happens when Oliver Twizt and Sandro Silva light the fuse on about 400 tons of straight up dancefloor C4 (Cfloor?) and then watch as the whole thing explodes. For the record, I’m not exaggerating — I haven’t been able to get this hook out of my head for weeks. Yes, you’re going to have to cruise over to Beatport for the DL. No, I don’t want to hear you complaining. Because at the end of the day, when you’re over at your friend’s place and your iPod’s plugged in and 11:07 pm rolls around and now people are looking to you to take the gathering to the next level, you’re going to want to be able to reach for this one.
Electro, Girl Fire, Pop | Lauryn Vyce – Fallin
Posted by GMONEY on March 13, 2012
It’s no secret around here that BigLife and I are complete suckers for girl fire, and this latest release from Lauryn Vyce is just what I need to satisfy my daily dose. Fallin has all the trappings of a radio smasher, a catchy hook, an infectious dance vibe, and a beat that oozes progressive house influence.

Hip-Hop | G-Eazy – Marilyn (ft. Dominique LeJeune)
Posted by dshaq on February 21, 2012
G-Eazy goes with all original production on this nice laid back track. Recruiting a good voice for the hook, G throws some nice bars on this one. This is more of an emotional side that we haven’t really seen from Gerald, but still delivers nonetheless. Hit G up on Facebook and Twitter and check back for more.
