Hip-Hop | Audio Push – Already
Posted by ATexas on August 26, 2011
Audio Push’s emcees hailing from SoCal released “Already” yesterday. This song, which is featured on Kid Ink’s Coast to Coast Mixtape, doesn’t have the usual West Coast vibe that springs to mind. The verses tear it up while the hook takes you down refreshing your palate. Its a pretty simple song beat and hook wise, but the lyrics are dope as they say “Just put the real around me,” well, this is a real good song. Definitely a good listen.

Hip-Hop, House | David Guetta ft Chris Brown & Lil Wayne – I Can Only Imagine
Posted by Juicebox on August 10, 2011
Not sure whether I should hit delete on my iTunes or play this at the next party I’m at. It’s a straight manufactured radio hit featuring a catchy hook, upbeat house/electro instrumental, and three of the most powerful names out right now. David Guetta for starters, switched up his sound in the verse’s with a more electro house sound almost fitting something we’d expect from an Afrojack or Diplo song. Chris Brown delivers as always, I can’t get enough Chris Brown. And Lil Wayne followed suit with his most recent material and created some more garbage for 14 year old girls to eat up…”Like you can kiss you’re old dude goodbye, smoochie?” Thoughts?

Hip-Hop | SoLo ft. Huey Mack – Growing Pains

Its been a while since we’ve heard anything from SoLo but the youngin is back with a new track featuring Huey Mack. SoLo’s and Huey’s verses were pretty good, but is it me or is there something off about the hook? It sounds like they need to go back into the studio and fix that.

Electro | Sabi – Wild Heart
Posted by ATexas on August 6, 2011
This is so far from what I usually post/listen to, but its so devilishly good. If you take Rihanna’s catchiness minus the annoying nasal voice, add the production team of a dubstep and dance song, sprinkle some natural talent and a hook for the ages and you get Sabi’s “Wild Heart.” You will be hearing this on the radio at some point, I can bet you that. This is more a female song, but if you’re comfortable enough with your masculinity then you can rock out as well. This song just makes me want to wear leather, be a badass bitch with a flask of Goose and have a penchant for trouble. How saucy.

Hip-Hop | Phil Adé-A Different World
Posted by ATexas on July 30, 2011
For my first official post I thought I’d throw down some Phil Adé. “Different World”, the track, brings me back to early Cudi (before he made our ears bleed with Mr. Rager). It’s loaded with a muted drum smash and a filter keeping the beat low-key. Not the best production choices, but has an absolute dope verbal assault for those of you who listen to rap for the verses. On the other hand, “Incense” is the epitome of chill music with Mac Miller laying down the hook in his traditional fashion. For all you who have entered the millennium and have an Apple computer, I suggest to play this song, press Command + T and zone out hardcore. Can you say visualizer? “Monte Carlo,” well, on the FNT chat board there has been a lot of hate ergo I thought I’d just post one more hip hop song. Monte Carlo is a dope song, sweet hook, catchy but not annoying.
Slash kind of wanted to win those damn festival tickets, but I assume since its official now that I’m posting I guess I’m out of contest eligibility. Rough life of a college girl.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Mike Stud Ft. Rich Young – On My Way

I never gave Mike Stud the benefit of the doubt, in fact I never really listened to his stuff until I heard this track. Wether you like Frat Rap or not, Mike and Rich kill it on this track no doubt. The hook is super catchy. After taking the time to listen to Mike’s other stuff, these are some of his best verses. The consensus is, I’m hooked. He’s definitely on his way.
