Hip-Hop | Ludacris – Rich & Flexin’ (ft. Waka Flocka)

Posted by on September 2, 2011

I’m on the fence about this one. I have a feeling it could pull me in after a few listens (perhaps even a little radio play), but then again, it might just be a bust. At any rate this is the most buzzing hip hop track from the last two days and since he threw in the black belt rhyme (yes, Gmoney and I are part of the club) I had to show him some love.

Albums, Dubstep | Mach & DJ Coman’s Dubstep Essentials Vol. 1

Posted by on August 30, 2011

I am proud to announce the first of FNT’s many essentials albums. They will not just be dubstep, but also house, electro, hip-hip, and what ever else we can come up with. Each will be worked on by multiple people to get a true set of essentials, not just one person’s favorites.

Now to the music. A lot of thought was put into the creation of this, including the order to which the tracks are in. I would like to give a huge shout to DJ Coman for his input for tracks and the awesome artwork he created. This does not just contain mindless heavy drops, but an array of what dubstep has to offer to you the listeners. For my true dubstep lovers I added a couple good ones at the end. Oh,and did I mention there are 30 tracks? Enough of the talk, time for some DUBSTEP!

Electro | I.O.U. – Around The Fire

Posted by on August 28, 2011

I.O.U. has been pumping these jams out lately. This week they’re showing their range by moving away from their usual hip-hop joints and trying their luck with a electro track. All in all, I have to say the result is pretty ill.

Electro, Hip-Hop | Jay Fresh- Otis (SuperVision Remix)

Posted by on August 24, 2011

Jordan Michael Johnson, better known as Jay Fresh, is a hip-hop artist coming out of the indie music scene in Dallas. His compositions are mixtures of eclectic electronic beats with hip-hop overtones and while his style has been described by some as “eclectic modern hip-hop,” his appeal is increasingly defined by a more thoughtful focus on the lyrical.

In the past year, Jay has become a notable fixture among the Dallas live music scene – opening for artists such as: LMFAO, Wale, The Cool Kids, Mac Miller, Yelawolf, Big Krit and Trae The Truth. Jay recently teamed up with producer SuperVision (whose currently in the Pretty Lights camp), to create this original electronic remix of the Jay-Z/Kanye West’s original “Watch The Throne” cut.

I know what you’re thinking, not another “Otis” remix. Believe me, I wouldn’t have featured this if I didn’t think it wasn’t worth your time. Be sure to follow Jay on his journey via Facebook and Twitter, as he continues to make quality music and put the city of Dallas on his back. I have a feeling Jay Fresh may just be the blogosphere’s next big artist.

Hip-Hop | 90s Finest – Off The Wall

Posted by on August 24, 2011

There’s no denying that 90’s Finest is one of the hungriest duo’s in the game right now, and their dogged pursuit of their dreams is finally paying off. We first found them murdering electro beats back at the beginning of the year, and since then they have graduated to mastering their own production. Their latest release, Off The Wall, has everything from electro to hip-hop, and even a dash of dirty dubstep for good measure. Its amazing to see just how far these two guys have come musically this year, and I have a sneaky suspicion that this is just the beginning of big things to come for these charismatic Canadians.
