After teasing fans with an April fools version of “I Choose U”, Cal and Rez treat their fans with a full length visual release, sans the goat. One of the perks of having a major label behind you is music videos with a budget. Pretty little extras, visual effects, dashboard hula dancers, you know – “the works”. Have you asked your female friends lately what they think of Timeflies? Do it. Chicks are in a frenzy over this electro-hip-pop powerhouse duo. “I Choose U” is just icing on the cake. Cue the “Girl Fire” tag, this one’s going viral.

Dubstep | Reso – When It Drop
Posted by Sev on April 1, 2013
After we got this little preview last week, it turns out Reso wasn’t playing an April fools prank after all. Reso has been destroying the scene lately with some of the most creative pieces to release. This new emergence of Neuro-hop is very exciting because the genre has no bounds and Reso is definitely paving the way for people wanting to get involved. I would say without hesitation that he is the current king of Neuro-hop. His tracks always have the perfect blend of hip-hop and neuro/glitch that it’s hard not to listen to the tracks on repeat all day. So much inspiration and creativity is coming from this artist that I would recommend you all follow him and be on the lookout for his releases.

Albums, Hip-Hop, Videos | Sam Lachow Presents: Young Seattle Part 2
Posted by J_Salzer on April 1, 2013
Seattle has one of the hottest hip-hop scenes in the country. All of the sounds that come from there are unique, and the various artists featured on Sam Lachow’s Young Seattle are no different. The video itself is cool, and is filmed almost like a cypher. My favorite verse is probably the second, as Gift Uh Gab absolutely kills it. The verse by Sam’s partner in crime, Raz Simone, is also a work of beauty. Even though there are so many different types of rap featured in this video, it’s good to see that they can all mesh and all support each other. Check out the video above and download the track for free here.

The New York youngin’ Skizzy Mars drops off his debut project Phases, for free download. This is cool kid hip hop with plenty of indy and electronic influences on tracks like 15 & Delusional. Guest appearances and production on the project come from the likes of G-Eazy, Mikey Fresh, Sterling Fox, Conner Youngblood & more.

After months of anticipation, the Cali bred rapper, Azad Right, lands back on our screens with his newest visual set, “Showtime”. Equipped with a ferocious mentality to prove his abilities as a rapper, Azad straps on a camera rig and takes us for a trip around L.A. From Santa Monica to the depths of Hollywood, Azad shows that there is a right way to create soulful, substance heavy hip-hop. “Showtime” is attached to Azad’s upcoming project, For The Hopeful, slated for a late spring release. Production compliments of Jonathan Marquez.

I’m just going to call this right now, Dotcom will have a huge year this year. He’s got his first official EP dropping sometime this summer, he’s got a few rumored collabs coming up, and he’s consistently putting out Beatport Dubstep top 10 worthy tracks. For you hip-hop heads, Dotcom gives you a full minute of the original track and then just slaps you in the face with an edit that would make baby Jesus smile.
