Ok, this is something that needs to be discussed. This is not the first time we’ve seen Justin Bieber go in. While some people are fretting over the 20-year old broad’s claims that she got Bieber’s seed, the young floppy haired pop star is spitting flames on live radio and more importantly, impressing the shit out of people. So my question to you is, can Justin Bieber really rap and will he have a career in hip-hop? Sound off in the comments section!
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Elite – Awaken [Mixtape]

A couple months back when I introduced Elite to the FNT family, I explained his journey as producer and rapper along with his relationship with other artists such as J. Cole and Voli. Since then, Elite has released a few more singles in preparation for his first project as a solo hip-hop artist, Awaken, which he dropped just a week ago. It’s not fair to say his progression is overly evident because quite honestly the first time I heard him I was blown away. Everything from his voice, to the lyrics, to the hooks, to the production, to the delivery has always been on point. Awaken is a mixtape you ABSOLUTELY DON’T WANT TO SLEEP ON. Although it’s rooted with hip-hop, it almost has an alternative sound to it, similar to something OnCue may put together. Speaking of which, I’d love to hear a collab from these two.

We’ve been noticing that you guys have been really digging these “essentials” playlists that we’ve been putting out for Electro and Dubstep, so Grubeats‘ and I decided to compile our own 35 track playlist of absolute hip-hop MUST DOWNLOAD‘s for you to get your ears wet to. Hip-Hop, Mashups | DJ21azy – No Balance on Death Row

Another quality mash from the man, DJ21azy. I think he does these mashups right by using classic hip-hop instead of jumping on a Adele song or using Levels, but hey that’s just me. Anyway the mash is Pac’s 16 on death row and Atmosphere’s trying to find a balance. Support the dude with his Facebook page and definitely watch out for more mashes to come.

Here’s a new smoker’s anthem from Wiz Khalifa and his boys, Malik MD7, S.A.S., & Calliko. Wiz’s verse is reused from Calliko’s track, Whip It All, but is much better suited for this hip hop reggae infused track.

In order to prep everyone for their EP, which drops sometime in early 2012, New Linen is giving us a sneak peak at what’s to come. Making the Most is a clean acoustic/hip hop jam with a catchy chorus complimented by smooth verses. If this is a preview of whats to come, I can’t wait to hear what else New Linen has in store for us in 2012.

Hip-Hop, Videos | The Dean’s List – All My Troubles [Music Video]

A few months back, The Dean’s List teamed up with Red Bull to release an exclusive track. Representing their brand well, Sonny, Mik, and Mendoza delivered a high octane electro/hip-hop track. About a month ago, the two camps teamed up once again to shoot the visuals for the single. They made their way up to the coast of New Hampshire to capture most of the caffeinated visuals with the help of FTS Creative (who has been killing the game with videos lately). I’m not sure if this song will find its way to an official project, but for now you can grab the mp3 below if you don’t already have it.
