Albums, Hip-Hop, Videos | Sam Lachow Presents: Young Seattle Part 2

Posted by on April 1, 2013

Seattle has one of the hottest hip-hop scenes in the country. All of the sounds that come from there are unique, and the various artists featured on Sam Lachow’s Young Seattle are no different. The video itself is cool, and is filmed almost like a cypher. My favorite verse is probably the second, as Gift Uh Gab absolutely kills it. The verse by Sam’s partner in crime, Raz Simone, is also a work of beauty. Even though there are so many different types of rap featured in this video, it’s good to see that they can all mesh and all support each other. Check out the video above and download the track for free here.

Hip-Hop | Hi-Rez — Never Enough (feat. Kinetics) [Music Video]

I’ve been aware of Hi-Rez’s growing stardom for awhile now, but it wasn’t until I really delved into his work that I realized how deserving he is. Rez is a talented rapper in his own right, who cares about the kind of hip-hop he represents, and thus works diligently on his lyricism. Joining him on this gripping, melodic Cherne beat is Kinetics, an absolute lyrical warrior, who is becoming one of the blog-world’s most consistent songwriters and emcees. Neither disappoints here, and Kinetics’ enthralling hook is what gives it its true lasting appeal. Be sure to stay updated on these two as their popularity continues to grow — we can only imagine that they are destined for long careers given their talent.

Hip-Hop | Foreign Beggars Ft. Skinnyman & DVS – Hold On (Maksim Edition)

Foreign Beggars ft Skinnyman & DVS - Hold On (Maksim Edition)Miksim is one of the hottest MCs in the UK, spitting over Hip-Hop, Grime, and even Dubstep and its many sub-genres. He has done a lot of work with great producers such as Culprate, Document One, Quartus Saul, and many others. This is a great track for him to have picked to rap over. Foreign Beggars have always had verse friendly beats that have been successfully redone by many. Maksim comes in like boss, spitting a flow flawlessly to the kicks and snare. Definitely on of my favorites of his now.

Hip-Hop | Danger DOOM – Benzie Box (Opiuo Rework)

Posted by on March 23, 2013

MF DOOM (JJ DOOM)Opiuo must have put in his all to create this because it is an awesome rework of DANGER DOOM. I’ve always loved the style of Hip-Hop the guys like MF DOOM and Captain Murphy do. I was afraid that Opiuo would have ruined the original style by incorporating a lot of Dubstep, but to my pleasant surprise I found myself bumping out to a heavy bassed Hip-Hop jam.
