Dubstep | R Rated #66
Posted by Mach on March 28, 2013
Welcome to this weeks installment of Wobble Wednesday… haha, god can you imagine? I sure as hell can’t. ENiGMA Dubz kicking off R Rated properly.
This preview right here is exactly why I love what I do. Sure I get to listen to tons and tons of music from lots of popular artists, but nothing compares to stumbling across an epic tune from a guy who can barely get 20 plays on track. Dan Dakota is that guy, but don’t worry Dan, you killed it with this. Can’t wait for the full version to release. Everyone should show Dan Dakota some love.
I am so sorry there are so many previews in this weeks R Rated… well I sort of am sorry. Coffi makes apologies empty at this point.
I am so happy that Sev sent this over to me tonight. The drop on this track is filthy, really dig the changes that MUST DIE! made.
Aweminus posted up this track a few months ago and luckily for us he just released this gem as a freebie. It starts out all nice and then BAM! Michael Jackson just started a war in hell for dibs on Gary Colman.

Did you see the size of that Unicorn?!?! I bet if you click ‘Read On’ you can catch it.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Joey Bada$$ – Unorthodox (Official Music Video)
Posted by Mach on March 15, 2013
Joey Bada$$, one of the best up and coming Hip-Hop youngsters in the game… in my opinion. In a way he reminds me off Immortal Technique, minus the graphic content of his verses. The way Joey’s raps flow is a real world, real life way to drop in on a beat. He is just a young guy who knows what he wants from his music, and to some his methods may seem a bit “Unorthodox.”
Bonus Track
Mix | DJ Trademark – Over The Top Mix
Posted by Juicebox on March 12, 2013
DJ Trademark follows up his New Years Eve Mix with his latest hour long mix of electro bangers entitled, “Over The Top Mix.” It really is an art when someone can take 20+ songs ranging all across the board and turn it into a seamlessly blended hour long piece of work. Trademark absolutely crushes this mix, so whether you’re going to the gym or need a party playlist, I highly recommend downloading this guy. Tracklist after the jump.
Hip-Hop | Drake – 5AM In Toronto (prod. by Boi-1da)
Posted by W8 on March 7, 2013
Allow me to preface this post by saying, everybody is entitled to their own opinion as am I. Drake goes viral regardless of any blog so why not take this opportunity to share my thoughts. As the clock strikes 5AM here in Toronto, I don’t like this track. ”5AM In Toronto” bleeds pints of emotion, it’s got mad lyricism, and I get all that. I’m not even saying that I have something opposed to what we have here. I just don’t feel like I know what’s good anymore, and to be perfectly honest; I don’t think you do either. Everyone is starving for nutriance, and these organic vocal dosages give us life. Staring through the mirror into an artist’s life makes us feel like we have a friend, and because of this I’m usually sufficing thoughts like ‘Who is this guy talking to‘. We like hearing voices, and if that sounds crazy, well… yes it is. Anyways, I think this is what we’ve all been waiting for so allow me to contradict myself, my name is W8!
Late last night Young Money’s own Drake followed up his earlier smash hit ”Started From The Bottom” with more heat entitled ”5AM In Toronto”. The way Drake manages to feature on his own track is remarkable. His third studio album is presumably set to drop this summer.

Progressive House | Twibak – Fluke
Posted by W8 on February 8, 2013
Over the years, I have remained in constant contact with Twibak from across the pond in Sweden. He is a special producer to say the least. Crafting a certain quality in his production that gives you an indefinite feeling of potential; just living life like we all do. He doesn’t release tracks that often, and so this marks a special occasion. ”Fluke” has an alleviated compression feel to it, nothing that exaggerated. Seamless transitions front to back with delicate anthemic work bundled with smooth synths and sprays. Altogether a blissful array of rhythm.

If you like this, feel free to go back in time and hear a personal favorite that I posted years ago. A sweet tune that’s still as relevant today as any, Click Here.
Dubstep | R-Rated #63
Posted by Sev on February 7, 2013
F3tch is not a highly known artist for most people, but take my word he is no amateur. Coming off of a EP release just a few months back he is still continuing on with the dark, heavy vibes that gave off through that EP. This freebie has a great use of samples and stays true to his dark style. Grab the free download HERE.
Jphelpz is another artist that stays true to the dark style of dubstep as well, and also just had a new EP released. This guy cranks out tunes like crazy, so if you are into his style I would suggest giving him a follow because he has plenty of tunes out and plenty on the way.
Oscillator Z has made a few appearances on R rated before, but he has been MIA for a while. It seems as though he was feeling very generous this week because he gay away two crazy bootlegs. The first is of Downlink – Gamma Ray Burst and the second is of Genetix – Squid Attack.
Featured, FYI | You, Me, and Avicii — The State of EDM in 2013
Posted by Spice on January 24, 2013
January 23, 2013. 12:13 p.m.
Up until five minutes ago I was having an utterly unremarkable day. In fact, had someone asked me about my day five minutes ago, I would have responded with something along the lines of, “well, you know, it’s really cold out.” Or, “I had soup for lunch.” In other words, up until five minutes ago, my day was filled with the mundane but generally inoffensive things that define the 9-to-5 hours.
But then the following tweet happened. And just like that, I became a bitter, angry person with a white-hot axe to grind against the world and everything in it:
Thank you so much for all the GREAT #aviciixyou basslines! Next up is the beat/rhythm! aviciixyou.com for more info! #networkedsociety
— Tim Bergling (@Avicii) January 23, 2013
Ugh.
For those of you who don’t follow the baby-faced Bieber of EDM, the man (boy? guy?) better known as Avicii recently launched a large scale initiative to crowdsource his next “hit single.” AVICII X YOU styles itself rather magnanimously as the first ever “global collaboration” in dance music, inviting You, The Aspiring Producer, to join forces with Tim Bergling in creating his next anthem.
Here’s how it works. You, The Aspiring Producer, dream up a melody and submit it to AVICIIXYOU.com. Then you wait on tenterhooks as everyone votes, but that’s all for show because in the end Avicii’s just going to pick his favorite. Then a bassline follows in the same manner, then percussion, then a break, and finally, on February 7th, “effects” (a truly vague delineation which I’m personally choosing to construe as more cowbell).
Thus, a song is born.
