Future House | Christofi Unveils Future House Remix of Baby Bash’s “Baby I’m Back”
Posted by Juicebox on July 7, 2015
There’s an interesting irony when it comes to dance music’s newest genre, future house. The genre, which was championed by the likes of Oliver Heldens and Tchami, is characterized by its groove-driven bass lines that borrows vintage sounds from dance music, while delivering a main stage punch. The genre, which is supposed to be the “future” of dance music, actually relies on the past, and some future house producers have even taken to looking to the past to draw inspiration for their music. Since he made his debut in 2014, Christofi has steadily grown to become one of Los Angeles’ most promising house talents, and today, the serial remixer has delivered his latest effort – a groovy remix of Baby Bash’s “Baby, I’m Back.” On the remix, Christofi increases the tempo and weaves together uplifting piano melodies with thumping kicks and intricate synth work to create a remix that will have you out of your seat and grooving on the dance floor.

Electro-House | Andrei Stephen Debuts On Mau5trap With “Some Chords” Remix
Posted by Tay on June 24, 2015
Remix competitions have always been a fun way to push producers to throw their own unique spin on a track, and help unearth hidden talent, and deadmau5 and Beatport did just that. The outspoken, mau5trap head honcho and Beatport teamed up to host a remix competition for Dillon Francis’ electro-influenced moombah remix of “Some Chords,” and Andrei Stephen delivered a gem. The Toronto-native was able to separate himself from the other entrants with his unique remix that could only be described as fusion between electro and future house. Stephen keeps the iconic chord progressions of the original, while weaving together big, booming bass lines with glitchy synth stabs and a heavy-hitting electro backbone to deliver a stunning product.

House | Bender and Paige Give Lloyd and Lil Wayne’s “Girls Around The World” A Summer-Ready Makeover
Posted by Tay on June 10, 2015
While we may be a few decades (or centuries) away from actually being able to time travel, we have the next best option to take you a few years into the past, thanks to two of New York’s fastest-rising producers, Keith Bender and Paige. Since Bender emerged with his remix of Route 94’s hit, “My Love,” the talented artist has left his mark with his sun-soaked style of future house, and today, he’s taken on Lloyd’s jam, “Girls Around The World” featuring Lil Wayne. Bender and Paige channel the heavy 2008 R&B vibes of Lloyd’s original, but bring it back to the future with a modern-day house revival of the hit, as the two wunderkinds deliver a big, whomping bass line and subtle percussion accents that perfectly complements Lloyd’s croons and Wayne’s verse.
