Timeflies has gone folk, country and electro with their latest release “All The Way” reminding me of a mash up of Avicii’s “Wake Me Up,” Kesha and Pitbull’s “Timber” and even a bit of that Mumford & Sons, Lumineers sound! This is a HUGE record that I hope catches on to radio, as it’s a fun and catchy tune for all to enjoy! Glitch | CloZee – Gotta Get Some Sleep

I can’t remember if I’ve ever posted a glitch track, but what better day than my birthday to try something new? I couldn’t be happier I found it today since, as some of you know, Chicago is dangerously cold right now and we could use a distraction. “Gotta Get Some Sleep” by CloZee is fun, bouncy, and has a great mood to it. The horns and bass are funky and fresh. I’ve been following CloZee for a few years now, and she always impresses me. The slow section around 3:10 is a cool surprise so look out for that! This song is free on Bandcamp along with a lot of other sweet songs on the “Whompadelic Trip” album.

Dubstep | Rameses B – Transformations Ft. Laura Brehm

Rameses B has come out with an amazing track to start out 2014. Every time I’ve heard Laura Brehm sing on a track the vocals are always gorgeous. “Transformations” is melodic dubstep done right. I can’t think of a better word to describe this original song other than “beautiful”. It’s relaxing, well produced, and still fun. Props to Rameses B on this high quality release. FYI | Paul Baümer Of Bingo Players Passes Away After Battle With Cancer

Last night, the whole EDM community lost an influential, fun, and well-liked member. Paul Baümer, half of the Dutch duo Bingo Players, passed away after his five-month battle with cancer.
This morning, his bandmate Maarten Hoogstraten posted the tragic news to the artists’ Facebook page saying:
Although the news came as a shock to many in the community, Paul posted about his diagnosis on July 19 after missing a series of summer performances. He was a character with many fans that looked up to him, especially after the Bingo Players’ hit track “Rattle” that debuted in 2012. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. Here’s an excellent trap remix from Infuze to pump up your Monday night. His remix of “Rudeboy” by Sigma ft. Doctor is a 95bpm banger. It could easily be danced to, or played on a drive with friends. The bouncy vocals and “boing” type noises make this remix lots of fun. Infuze tagged it with “dancehall” which I don’t completely disagree with. Grab it for free if you’re diggin’ it.

Thirsty Thursday calls for this new release by Hayk & dFresh “Blackout” produced by Miguel Valor, who has also produced for the likes of Chris Webby, Joe Budden and Joell Ortiz with the EVO production team. I’m not advocating for all of you to get black out drunk with this post, but have fun, and drink responsibly. Fun fact about Hayk, his name is an acronym for Humble, Ambitious, Young King, named after the first king of Armenia, where here’s originally from. This is a must listen and a must download.
