Dubstep, Pop | Kanye West – Black Skinhead (Trumpdisco Remix)
Posted by Mach on July 14, 2013
Kanye West’s “Yesus” was the start of a remix extravaganza, and I don’t have to say how many we all have already seen. Trumpdisco has been the only remix I like so far that is not Trap, and he did an exceptional job at doing so. I was not expecting such filthy bass synths on this, and the progression is that Kanye darkness. If Kanye was into this type of music, I think he would approve of this remix.
Drum & Bass, FYI | Noisia & Foreign Beggars Join To Create, I Am Legion
Posted by Mach on June 15, 2013
One of Drum & Bass’s legendary groups, Noisia, and Grime trio, Foreign Beggars, announced their new epic collaboration project, I Am Legion. It is no surprise that the two groups decided to work together like this. They have done many great tracks together in the past including “Shellshock” and a favorite of mine, “Contact”. Just the other day I Am Legion unleashed a preview on BBC Radio 1 of their filthy new track, “Make Those Moves”. The dominant bass behemoth pounds into your ears taking no prisoners. I Am Legion may end up being one the best things to happen to Drum & Bass, Neuro-funk, and Dubstep in 2013. Keep an eye out for more killer I Am Legion tracks.
Dubstep, Review | Roughmath – Buzzkill Remixes EP (Ft. Archie Cane, Jarvis, Koven, & Skit)
Posted by Mach on June 10, 2013
I have been a huge fan of Roughmath ever since his days as Noir, but today I bring you an awesome conglomerate of remixes of Roughmath’s last EP, “Buzzkill”. Kicking off this remix EP is Archie Cane. I wish he would release more tunes because his style is rarely seen. The into has a bit of a Garage feel to it, but the drop is filthy per usual. My first listen to Jarvis’ remix left me on the fence, it may have been where I decided I would start listening to it. After my second listen with better placement, the track finally came together in my ears. Jarvis’ defined epic for me.
Koven on the other hand catches your attention no matter where you click play. He is still one of the dirtiest up and coming bass producers out there. His drops are full of some the heaviest progressions you will find and Maksim taking point on the vocal turned out to be a match made in Heaven. Last but certainly not least is a remix from our friend Skit. Lately Skit has been pushing out some beautiful Hip-Hop and R&B infused bass tracks that have been revolutionizing how I view each genre. His remix of “Cold” however takes us back through his skills as a Dubstep producer, to say the least it is quite impressive. Roughmath assembled one of the best Remix EPs I have heard in Dubstep in a while. Maybe this will set an example for others to come.

I had not heard anything about this remix until it released 2 days ago. It’s a slow but filthy remix, still maintaining the epic vibes from Culprate. A must buy for anyone in love with nasty Dubstep/Breakbeat.
This next track from Archie Cane, Sev & I have been obsessed with for days. It has deep carnival bass but in way we haven’t heard before. In other words, this track is dope.
Virtual seemed to have fallen off for a minute until his most recent releases. I was really feeling the griminess that carried with the vocals and the bass on this track. The drop comes at the most opportune moment and wreaks your ears.
Zanetic brought in an interesting underlaying theme to this track, it is almost middle-eastern. Either way, this track breaks into an insane drop, jam packed with different synths and bass.
Ah, I am so happy I saved this for R Rated. Not many know about Jomekka, but they should. He is one the first people I follow on Soundcloud, which says a lot considering I follow about 2000 artists now. Piercing lasers and crunchy bass, this track does not disappoint.

This week brings one of the heaviest R Rated posts we have had in a while. Luck of the draw for this weeks filthy tunes. Starting off this week is one of the heaviest things I have heard from Poseidon, which says a lot considering it’s his forte. At the same time this is the best Lord of the Rings themed original. Enjoy.
Next is this sick preview from JPhelpz off his upcoming EP, “Termination.” The bass on this track is unbelievable, if was any harder we would be deaf now.
The drop on this new release from Rogue has almost a funk filth vibe to it. I know some will see the correlation to Skrillex on this drop style, but it is still an awesome track. Get bent haters.
Speaking of Skrillex, this remix was a sweet find. Skrillex’s newest EP was bad, but then again it wasn’t all that great either. If this remix from Caden Jester was featured on the EP it would have been great. This remix owns face.

Progressive House | Spencer Bruno – Chalice [Preview]
Posted by Sev on January 16, 2013
An artist you guys might have formerly known to be producing some filthy dubstep tracks along with a few other genred tracks here and there has just gone under a different alias. Spenca, who has been making bass music for quite some time now, has decided to dedicate a whole new alias to his passion in progressive house. Being the versatile artist he is, this transition over won’t be too bad because he already has his first track featured on Avicii’s Electric Area Le7els podcast. That should go to show you how talented he is and after hearing this preview for the first time I was hooked. Not to mention the quality of the production. So go show your support by liking his new page and checking out the new track.

Ah, once again my favorite time of the week. Ommi (previously Deadpool Dubstep) has graced our ears with his first filthy remix under his new name. Remixing an already epic tune from Syrebral, Ommi dropped this fantastically like Getter. Heavy and crunchy, a true eardrum destroyer and perfect start to this weeks R Rated.

Asian Trash Boy never disappoints with his free remixes. He has a cool Hip-Hop/Dubstep blend that only feels right to rock out to.
CrusiA is new a producer to me, as of tonight in fact. Listening to this track, it started out interesting but nothing really grabbed me. Little did I know I was going to lose my virginity again about 34 seconds into the track.

This turned out to be the most interesting track of my night. The track starts out like any other Dance or House track. I really just didn’t want to listen anymore after that, but something about Dubstep being its labeled genre made me have to know what was in store. Worth the curiosity.
If you click “Read On,” a magical unicorn will appear or you will find more R Rated Dubstep.
