Progressive House, Videos | Fedde le Grand & Nicky Romero ft. Matthew Koma – Sparks (Official Video)
Posted by Middy on July 6, 2012
This summer has lacked that signiature track that really defined the sound of the summer. Last summer had “Levels” and more specifically “Calling”. “In My Mind” is still getting plenty of air play because it has yet to see a song unseat it as song of the year, but otherwise for potential anthems released this summer, you will come up empty. “Sparks” may just be that song. I am not guaranteeing an anthem from this track because I am not Nostradamus, but if this song were getting drafted into the anthem draft, it would go number one this summer. It will have stiff competition from two tracks coming out in the coming weeks in “Top Of The World” and Afrojack – Rock The House, but either way watch out because sparks will fly on July 16th when this is unleashed on the world.
DJ-Set, Electro-House, Progressive House | Nicky Romero Essential Mix
Posted by Middy on April 28, 2012
Nicky Romero appeared on BBC Radio One’s legendary Essential Mix show last night and definitely made the most of his opportunity, using every second of the 2 hours allotted to him to display his mastery as a producer and as a Dj mixing seamlessly through his extensive discography with hot tracks from others in the industry, while putting together a few impressive bootlegs such as his “Titanium” remix bootleg. He takes the opportunity to play many of his already released tracks, but he also uses this medium to showcase to the world some of his upcoming tracks including his UMF ID that is now a collaboration with ZROQ called WTF and will be released on Nicky Romero’s own Protocol Records.
He also played much his anticipated collaboration with Avicii “Nicktim”, a new collaboration with David Guetta that sounds great, Sander van Doorn’s upcoming anthem “Nothing Inside”, Dyro & Ansol’s electro house banger “Top Of The World”, and the first radio play of Avicii & Lenny Kravitz – Superlove (Original Mix). Nicky Romero is cementing himself as a superstar in EDM with the ability to produce all sorts of genres moving from his works with Fedde le Grand that have more of a tech feel, to his progressive solo works and those with David Guetta and his harder grimier tracks he has done on his own. The essential mixes coming at us this year have been crazy good with the previous two from Alesso & Arty both being must listens. This is perfect for your Saturday so Nicky Romero start off or continue your raging. Tracklist after the jump.

This is one of those collaborations that immediately grabs your attention and it does not disappoint. When you are listening to a Fedde Le Grand song you know you are getting a track with some of best production in the industry and with rising stars Deniz Koyu & Johan Wedel adding their influences to the track, it is going to be big. This song is meant to be played live with quick moving percussive elements, emotive progressive synths and a massive drop that will send any crowd into a frenzy. The video shows them collaborating on the track, the first play of the track and the crowd reaction, and for you Djs you see Fedde Le Grand’s amazing looking studio. Also after the jump are Sander van Doorn and Mark Knight’s sets from Sensation Belgium, which for those who went was an unreal experience and with it coming to America in October, this iconic event will only grow its legendary status. The sets from Afrojack & Dada Life were not recorded.

House | Fedde Le Grand – So Much Love (Deniz Koyu Remix)

Middy being the kind person he is, didn’t want to keep this from you guys any longer. He was in the process of writing it until something came up, so he told me to take over. I’m no Middy, but I’ll do my best. Fedde Le Grand nor this song need an introduction. We have all heard this House anthem being rinsed out by all the big names in House music. Voted by Fedde himself as “Breakthrough DJ/Producer 2011”, Deniz Koyu absolutely smashed this remix. The build up and progression throughout this track put you in a state of euphoria, not to mention the appealing synths and progressive leads. Although the original has a more jump-up club feel to it, this remix is right up there with it.
DJ-Set, Electro-House, Progressive House | Essential Mix & Selection W/ Madeon, Porter Robinson & Chuckie
Posted by Middy on January 29, 2012
On Friday night, BBC Radio One had a special show from Hull in England with Pete Tong’s Essential Selection show that included a spectacular 20 minute guest set from Madeon, included below, as well as a bonus 4 hours of Essential Mixes from Chuckie, Porter Robinson, Fedde Le Grand (not recorded) and Judge Jules to finish off a marathon night at Hull. Chuckie puts together a fantastic set with some of his new stuff such as his upcoming single “Together”, with his impeccable ability as a live Dj and great song selection. The mix that really stood out for me was Porter Robinson because as his is such as good live Dj, which seems to be a lost art these days and as a 19 year old, it is even more impressive. He is able to flawlessly mix together multiple songs, two or three or more at time, to create ridiculous bootlegs that will always keep you on your toes with a fantastic song selection. Listen to the sets on the BBC Radio One website or download them below. Tracklists after the jump.

What a good way to start 2012; Cazzette giving out their fantastic single “Killmode“, bootleged with Fatboy Slim’s “Right Here Right Now” and now Fedde Le Grand coming off of a massive 2011 and Nicky Romero, a star who is only getting brighter, give out two free songs they did together. They are quality works from that show the influences from both of them with Fedde’s house influences and Nicky Romero’s electro house style. These are free gems you do not want to pass up. Electro | Coldplay – Paradise (Tiesto Remix)

Tiesto, back with another one of his signature sounding anthems over Coldplay’s hit single Paradise. Although this is a radio rip it builds anticipation for the final release coming shortly. Still as of now, I’d say Fedde Le Grand still holds the title.
