Two of the many people giving away tracks for Christmas is the French duo Magnus & Timon. Up until a couple of months ago, they had not released a track all year but since then they have now released six. I am a huge fan of these guys so this gives me great pleasure. The kind of pleasure only two French men can give to another man. Two originals and one remix is what they have given away and all of them are good, but the two originals are great. “Kepler”, the melodic one, and “Onyx”, the more hard hitting one are both lacking in vocals but they don’t need them, they are both outstanding songs on their own. Their Dada Life remix is good as well but the other two clearly stand above it.

Progressive House | Archie – Loving You

I have never really been a fan of Archie because for a while, all his songs sounded the same (they even used the same synths). Although, I must admit that when I clicked play on this 2 minute and 51 second song, I wasn’t expecting to fall in love. I did though, Archie got me. Two years ago, I was punched in the stomach by a girl. It was an amazing experience. She had been texting me for like a week, maybe a week and a half and I was clearly not interested (she was kinda heavy). One day at lunch we passed each other in the hall and she just hit me. My mind was blown quite honestly. It didn’t hurt because I mean she’s a girl and the whole thing was actually pretty hot looking back on it.
The infatuation I imagine that girl had for me is what I have for “Loving You”, Archie’s latest song. I know it lacks substance and is extremely short and is not really a progressive house song but ever since I first heard it an hour ago, I can’t stop listening to it. The cheesy vocals are extremely catchy and it makes for such a feel good track.

When I first heard this song, I wasn’t a big fan. It grew on me though. R. Kelly is really the highlight of the song. Portland’s PropaneLV, who’s fresh off his “Varsity Blues” album, gives us his take on mother monster’s hit song. Be sure to purchase PropaneLV’s “Varsity Blues” here.

The homie Lloyd hit me with Love Mansuy’s latest single “White Heaven” and I’m a fan. The single is off Love’s upcoming project Barely Legal, and was produced by Balsam. The production sold me on this track as it has a new age R&B feel, which Mansuy has no problem vibing off with his vocals and emotions. I’d love to hear a down tempo remix of this record, or any remix at all as it has superb vocals, and an instrumentation that can be taken many ways. I wasn’t a big fan of Jay-Z’s “MCHG” album. It just didn’t do it for me. Hell, rap doesn’t do it for me anymore. However, there was one song on the tape I really liked. Of course, it was “YouKnowIGotIt” f. the big boss Ricky Ross. When EJ Blair hit me with Enferno’s remix, he must have known I was a sucker for this track. DC Native Enferno releases his live remix, and a mix below, which is pretty cool if you ask me. Follow Enferno as he continues to take over the blogosphere.

Ok, this is just perfect. I covered the original version of this song about a month or two back and honestly, I don’t know how much attention the song has actually got since its release because I love the song too much too care. But Teen Daze hit this one right on the head. The remix is clutch, spot on, however you wanna put it – I dig it. If you’re a fan of the original Generationals tune then you don’t want to miss this impeccable remix.

No clue who this Bo Saris guy is, where he came from, and how come he’s not bigger than he should be, but this track “Little Bit More” is refreshing and has potential to be a huge radio hit. If you’re fan of Bruno Mars, and that Mo-Town sound that’s been making a come back, this track is for you. Who knew a white boy had so much soul? This is a must listen!
