Chill | Dabin Brings The Feels With His Memorable Pyres EP
Posted by VMan on March 30, 2018
Dabin has long been a producer that has pushed the boundaries of sound. He’s shifted his focus over the years and settled in on his own signature style that’s caught the eyes and ears of esteemed talents such as Illenium, who has taken Dabin on tour and continues to work alongside him. I’ve been waiting for another big project from Dabin and today it came in the form of his Pyres EP. Complete with two tracks, Dabin’s iconic style is displayed in full. Each track is equally as powerful, but share a slight difference in tone. This is the EP you need for the weekend. He brought all the feels on it!
Bass, Hip-Hop | Apashe Releases Historic Requiem EP Inspired By Mozart
Posted by VMan on February 23, 2018
Apashe has long been known for his hybrid sound, but now he’s upped the ante. His historic Requiem EP just dropped today on Kannibalen Records with three tracks that are literally unlike anything I’ve heard before. What would you think if someone said they made an EP of classical mixed with hip-hop and trap? You’d probably laugh, but once you listen to this project there’s no laughter, just awe-struck silence. It’s the beginning of the year and a lot of lists have been coming out about what producers are going to have the biggest years… Apashe should be at the top of the list.
Bass, Electronic | Michael White Releases Next EP “Diamonds” On Firepower Records
Posted by VMan on February 5, 2018
Quickly rising artist Michael White, most notably seen via his many NCS releases, raked in over 1 million streams on Spotify alone in 2017. His music has the unwavering support of BTSM, Ephwurd, Jauz, and JOYRYDE. Now Michael White is ready to release his new EP Diamonds, a four track effort boasting a diverse mix of drumstep, electro, future bass, and trap. “Diamonds In My Mouth” sets the stage by weaving together intense elements of drumstep and deep bass with hard-hitting, distorted vocal snippets.
“Make The Hit” sees White collaborating with GARABATTO and taking his sound to new grounds by incorporating dubstep, reggae, synths, and touches of trap for good measure. “Moves” and the Rob Gasser-assisted “Pleasure” help bring this power-packed effort to a memorable finale, as “Pleasure” shows off a more subdued side of White’s production as the experience wraps up.
Michael White seems to never be short on releases, something most likely to be reflected as he continues his path in 2018.
Electro-House, House | Lektrique Goes 80’s Retro With Vibrant New EP
Posted by VMan on December 1, 2017
Lektrique has had an amazing 2017. The Belgian producer toured the US for the first time and has grown Kannibalen Radio as one of the best tastemaking music podcasts on the web. Not to mention he’s released some incredible tunes, including his latest project that features two 80’s inspired hits. TURBO sees Lektrique bring his electro sound with new flash and flare, while NEON sees him breaking genre bounds and slowing down the BPMs from TURBO. Together these two tracks are magnificent, lending themselves to be easily synced for a major Hollywood sci-fi. Don’t be surprised if that ends up happening!
Dubstep, Trap | Kai Wachi Goes All Out With New Die Young EP
Posted by VMan on October 11, 2017
If you call yourself a fan of bass music and you’re not all over Kai Wachi, then there’s something wrong. The Boise producer has been cooking up some of the hottest tracks for years and he shows no signs of slowing down. His hybrid sound is best exemplified in his newest EP, Die Young, that came out today on Kannibalen Records. It’s official release features four songs, including “LUVSICK” that came out previously as a single, but on Soundcloud Kai has added a bonus free download for fans. All five tracks are truly incredible. Word on the internet is that he had one of the best sets at Excision’s Lost Lands, which isn’t surprising. Just listen to his music and try to imagine yourself getting blown away by the immense bass!
Bass | JETSET Releases Genre-Defying Mayday EP For Free
Posted by VMan on September 25, 2017
JETSET has been unraveling his EP throughout the entirety of September. Now, his full EP Mayday is finally here complete with six tracks. I thought we’d be getting an EP of full on bass, but JETSET switches things up throughout, showing an entirely new creative side to him. Instead of just getting our usual dose of JETSET’s low frequencies, he goes full on composer with songs that aren’t really electronic at all. In mixing the two styles he shows just where electronic music can go. Mayday is a complete project telling a story through the whole project. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Bass | Dead Battery Returns To Kannibalen Records With Seeing Red EP
Posted by VMan on September 6, 2017
Dead Battery is one of those special producers that not everybody knows about. He’s a true talent that can rise above the rest when he’s called forth. The only thing is that he runs on his own time. Luckily, we’ve gotten to see him come forth again, this time with an EP called Seeing Red. Complete with six tracks, he makes his return to the unique bass compositions that the select people who do know of him, recognize him for. This project follows up on his monumental Recovery album that was created after he had come out of a coma caused by a motorcycle accident. It’s safe to say he’s moving ahead with all cylinders firing.
