So remember that dude who produced Vic Mensa’s huge track Feel That? That same dude, Smoko Ono, is now moving onto bigger and better things. Case and point with his brand new track featuring the Chicago songstress and Most Dope artist, Njomza. The track starts up slow but really gains its character with the build up. Is this is any indication on what Smoko’s upcoming EP, Slackin & Mackin, which will be released this fall, then it’s definitely going to be big. Electro-House, House | Mat Zo – The Up Down Left Right EP

Not too much time left on this, but the master, Mat Zo has released his debut release on his new imprint Mad Zoo under Anjunabeats. He releases his previously released collab with The Knocks, “Get Down 2 Get Up”, alongside a totally new tune that shows the versatility in the Mat Zo production arsenal. “Get Down 2 Get Up” is much funkier than what we have seen and “Left To Right” heavier, so it will be interesting to see if he continues to experiment in the coming months or try and go with this trend, with some drum n bass mixed in.
We will see the direction of the label going forward, whether or not he goes with strictly his own releases, or also finding tracks from new producers and releasing them on Mad Zoo. He will release the songs for free first and then go with a traditional label for release. As we wait for what the future brings, grab the two track EP below for free.

Oh Honey’s “Be Okay” was a big success, garnering well over a million plays on Youtube and 750k plays on Soundcloud. Matt DiMona has also had success recently, with his last two tracks combining for over 400k plays. His remix of Nikyee Heaton’s “Bad Intentions” was fantastic and is what really put him on the map. He has put his own spin of, as he calls it, feel good house on the original and it turned it great. Perfect for pool parties, as people always say, or even for watching people walk by your house, if you’re into that sort of thing. The debut EP from Brooklyn-based Painted Zeros is, for lack of a better word, awesome. The five tracks comprising SVALBARD are an assertive and creatively varied journey through the psyche of singer/songwriter/guitar player/producer/jack of all trades Katie Lau. No fillers here, unless you count 30 seconds of tight experimental wandering halfway through — the EP ranges from deceptively fragile and New Order-tinged (“This American Life”) to ecstatic and garage rock-y (“Jaime”) to moody-yet-hopeful-yet-delicate-yet-steely (“Too Drunk”).
