Dubstep, Electro-House, Mix | Going Quantum: SPACE LACES Guest Mix
Posted by Sev on March 16, 2013
I’m usually not a fan of listening to long mixes, but whenever you’re dealing with an artist who has no original releases under his name and is so exclusive, but somehow manages to have one of the craziest fan followings it’s hard to not post it. SPACE LACES is probably one of the biggest up and coming artist in the EDM scene, whether you knew about him a while ago, or are just learning about him this is just the beginning. This artist creates everything from nu-disco, to glitch, to dirty electro, all the way to the heaviest dubstep tracks you have ever imagined. People who follow him get up everyday just hoping for a release from this one of a kind artist. I would recommend everyone check him out because it is only a matter of time before his name is everywhere in the EDM world.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electronic | Koven – More Than You EP
Posted by Sev on March 3, 2013
Koven, formerly known as Coven, have just released their newest EP, which consists of one of the greatest releases of the year by far. After my first listen to the release I knew that this EP needed to be more than just a post about the release. So with a little bit of help we were able to ask the duo some questions about music and how it all started, which you can find by reading on below. Besides the two originals on the EP from Koven are two remixes; one from DC Breaks and the other from Roughmath, which are both amazing in their own manner. The title track, More Than You, is the perfect blend of emotion and heaviness into one power packed song. It isn’t an easy task to create such an emotional piece by an artist and also be able to incorporate their flavor of grime as well, but this duo showed us exactly how it needs to be done. Their second track No Blocks seems to be more along the lines of the neuro/glitchy style of dubstep that artist such as Koan Sound, or Reso create so often. Either way this EP contains some great tracks from all sides of the spectrum and is a must have. Don’t forget to click ‘Read On’ to check out our interview with Koven, and also a big thank you to Viper Recordings for helping make that happen.

Featured, FYI | You, Me, and Avicii — The State of EDM in 2013
Posted by Spice on January 24, 2013
January 23, 2013. 12:13 p.m.
Up until five minutes ago I was having an utterly unremarkable day. In fact, had someone asked me about my day five minutes ago, I would have responded with something along the lines of, “well, you know, it’s really cold out.” Or, “I had soup for lunch.” In other words, up until five minutes ago, my day was filled with the mundane but generally inoffensive things that define the 9-to-5 hours.
But then the following tweet happened. And just like that, I became a bitter, angry person with a white-hot axe to grind against the world and everything in it:
Thank you so much for all the GREAT #aviciixyou basslines! Next up is the beat/rhythm! aviciixyou.com for more info! #networkedsociety
— Tim Bergling (@Avicii) January 23, 2013
Ugh.
For those of you who don’t follow the baby-faced Bieber of EDM, the man (boy? guy?) better known as Avicii recently launched a large scale initiative to crowdsource his next “hit single.” AVICII X YOU styles itself rather magnanimously as the first ever “global collaboration” in dance music, inviting You, The Aspiring Producer, to join forces with Tim Bergling in creating his next anthem.
Here’s how it works. You, The Aspiring Producer, dream up a melody and submit it to AVICIIXYOU.com. Then you wait on tenterhooks as everyone votes, but that’s all for show because in the end Avicii’s just going to pick his favorite. Then a bassline follows in the same manner, then percussion, then a break, and finally, on February 7th, “effects” (a truly vague delineation which I’m personally choosing to construe as more cowbell).
Thus, a song is born.
Bootleg, Mashups | Kap Slap – Bootie Bundle Volume 1
Posted by Juicebox on January 15, 2013

Well, Kap Slap, you did it again. You took all my favorite house tracks and made them that much better. Hat’s off to Kap Slap as usual. His latest project, entitled, “Bootie Bundle Volume 1” (a play on bootleg for those of you who didn’t catch that) might be his best release yet. Not only does the mixtape have 17 brand new tracks, but it features a wide array of genres of EDM tracks; some of his track selection may surprise you…in the best way possible. Below is my favorite track from the tape and a two click download link for the whole mixtape!
Hip-Hop, Review | Grubeats’ Top 12 of ’12
Posted by Grubeats on January 14, 2013
Grubeats; fashionably tardy as always. I can’t promise I’ve saved the best for last, but hopefully this eclectic mix of tracks tickle’s at least party of your fancy. I’d enjoy hearing from you in the comments section if you have opinions on any of these songs!
12.) Skizzy Mars – Sirens
This young star didn’t sound my radar until late spring of ’12. I had heard the name and few scattered verses, but overlooked the true talent Skizzy Mars was bringing to the table until I first heard “Sirens”. With sounds similar to a young Cudi, Skizzy himself only recently graduated high school and has only begun to lie the brick and mortar for long, prosperous career.
11.) Skrillex & Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem
As you probably know, I’m not a die heard EDM head like many writers and followers of this site. No kandi for this kid. I do however, enjoy just about anything Skrillex lays his hands on. Couple the addictive production with Damian Marley’s rasta raps and you have pure gold. If and when hip-hop and EDM cross paths, this is the type of execution I expect. [Watch video HERE]

Dubstep | Robert Miles – The Children (Deckscar Reworked Mix)[PREVIEW]
Posted by Sev on January 8, 2013
Up and coming artist Deckscar has been working on this track for some 6 months now as a monster exclusive for the FNT fans. I got in contact with this talented artist a while back in hopes of working something out with him, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the end result. This track is surely going to make some noise in the EDM scene, reworking an old dance craze favorite. To help show our support for him, I decided that we would release the track at 1k fans on his Facebook page to help grow his fan base a little more for his other outstanding upcoming releases.
