Dubstep | Die Antwoord – Fok Julie Naaiers (Nero Bootleg)

Nero is just hitting one million fans? This is a shock to me being as they are one of the biggest duo’s+vocalist group in dubstep and probably one of the freshest live acts. Either way they decided that since this little bootleg wasn’t ever going to see a release they would grace us with this aweseome freebie of Die Antwoord’s Fok Julie Naaiers. I have to say I’m not to crazy about Die Antwoord and their unorthodox style, but Nero is Nero and there is no passing on that. Their Soundcloud won’t allow me to share it so grab the download HERE

Dubstep, Electro | KDrew – Last Train To Paradise (The Noisy Freaks Remix)

Posted by on July 11, 2012

The Noisy Freaks tend to dabble in Electro, Electro-House, and Dubstep, but Complextro is the genre the duo calls home. Not many artists claim the Electro/Dubstep blended genre their main production preference, but if one is going to do it I’m glad it was these guys. The original from KDrew had incredible vocals that are utilized perfectly on this remix. Laser firing, bass pumping, and synth sweating, this track was made for the dance floor.

Dubstep, Preview | Colin Munroe ft. Pusha T – The Fight Of My Life (Zeds Dead Remix)

Posted by on June 29, 2012

Some heavy s*%t coming your way from dubstep duo Zeds Dead. The Toronto-based group does it big this time in the form of a Colin Munroe remix featuring Pusha T. ‘The Fight Of My Life’ first teases us with the tranquility of Colin Munroe’s vocals, then kicks us square in the nuts with gut-wrenching bass and wobble that has come to make the duo so popular. Be sure to look out for the release of this one on July 17th and until then, keep raging through the weekend with this preview!

Hip-Hop | Kitty Pryde & Riff Raff – Orion’s Belt (Video)

Posted by on June 18, 2012

“The way I ball, I could have played for the Toronto raptors.”

Music is all about bringing people together—especially when those people are capable of virtually crashing internet servers with the snap of a Twitpic. Noisey teamed up with Kitty “Rap Game Taylor Swift” Pryde and Riff “Rap Game James Franco” Raff in Daytona Beach for “Orion’s Belt,” the new cut off of Kitty Pryde’s recent acclaimed EP, Haha, I’m Sorry. Cavorting around a beachside carnival, the dynamic duo gets into some (surprisingly) good, clean fun in a video that will inevitably be referred to as “Rap Game That-Last-Scene-In-Grease.”

Hip-Hop, Videos | I.O.U. – Lovely People (Video)

Posted by on June 17, 2012

I know this is a little late. But I’ve owed I.O.U. a post for a while. I enjoyed their first mixtape, said I would post it, and then totally forgot about. Then enjoyed this video, and totally forgot to post it. So I hope this post can win me back the favor of the northern duo of I.O.U. Choosing an interesting Beatles sample, the rap-rap duo of I.O.U. create something special with this J-Kill filmed piece. The first verse starts at around :45 seconds, and then is slowly and smoothly delivered by the first half of I.O.U, Andrew Buckner. It is then taken over by the other half of the two man team, Isaiah McNeill, delivering a much more thought-provoking – but still keeping the slow and smooth style, verse. Just take a second(or 3 minutes) out of your day to check out these two lovely people.

House | Redroche Vs Garbage – Go Baby Go

Posted by on June 14, 2012

Thanking all of their new fans for the love and support that brought on the rise of this Canadian duo, RedRoche decided to give away this little Summer treat. The original track ‘Cherry Lips’ by Garbage is a favorite of the duo and they decided to rework the track in honor of its release exactly 10 years. The outcome is nothing short of a great feel good jump track. Just let this track take you away and have a great time.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Diplo Speaks on Signing Riff Raff to Mad Decent

Posted by on May 29, 2012

Just last week, Riff Raff was featured on DJ Green Lantern’s “Invasion Radio” on XM 44. During the interview, Mad Decent head honcho Diplo called in from Japan to talk about why he signed Riff Raff, and what the future holds for the dynamic duo. During the course of the interview, Riff Raff broke Green Lantern off with a very ricey freestyle that lasted nearly 8 minutes long. As a bonus, I’ve included a fascinating article in the LA Weekly featuring Riff Raff’s complicated story. Read the article here.
