So FNT Resident DJ, DJ JurisDoc, decided to record his set from last Tuesday’s Timeflies The Scotch Tape album release party. Events | Identity Festival [Hollywood] Review

With a last minute venue change, a decent lineup, and the most anticipated stop of Identity the following day…Identity Hollywood still managed to deliver. Despite it’s traditional use of indoor performances, The Palladium actually worked extremely well by turning the back parking lot into massive outdoor arena. Electro, House | The Vanish – Hold On (Russ Chimes Remix)

Up and comer Russ Chimes held it down tonight in a big way at DC’s U Street Music Hall — even brought us behind the DJ booth for a straight dance battle royale with his crew. Show this kid some love and hit up his remix of this progressive house banger. I’ll be honest — the vocals on this track are a bit weirdly reminiscent of Jim Morrison (of The Doors). But in a good way.

After Cazzette’s closing track at about 11 p.m. at the Albany Armory on September 12th, all that could be heard was the loud and constant chanting of the nights main attraction, progressive house artist/producer, Avicii. Opening with “Fade into Darkness,” a pulsing crowd sang along and all were already assured it was going to be a good night.

Born and raised in Mumbai, India, surrounded by Electronic Dance Music, M2 really brings a unique perspective and sound to his productions. FNT covered Jazz Aspen Snowmass this Labor Day Weekend 2011 in Snowmass Village, CO, cautious of record high cougar percentages. Friday night’s electronic lineup consisted of Something Underground, Sorry for Partying, Paper Diamond, Thievery Corporation, and Girl Talk. The highlights of the night were undoubtedly Paper Diamond and Girl Talk. Paper Diamond threw down an energizing set of fresh beats with a vibe similar to Pretty Lights. Girl Talk followed with a demonstration of true mashup genius fueling a two-hour mountain party. The following night’s lineup included Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Steely Dan. The Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela jammed rhythmic and fast acoustic guitars, keeping the crowd thoroughly entertained. Older couples were pleased with Steely Dan’s jazz-influenced style of music.
