Ok, there’s been lots of news over the past few months about the end of Soundcloud and we wanted to put together a quick list of our favorite Soundcloud alternatives to check out. With all of the uncertainty, here are some great places to diversify where you’re connecting with fans:

Bandcamp – This has been around for a while now, and a great place to sell music. It definitely lacks some social features like repost’s and comments, but definitely a great place to sell music if you have a loyal fanbase. It might seem a bit old fashioned to use Bandcamp, but it’s a sure thing for selling music.

Mixcloud – An amazing place to post mixes, maybe not the best place to put all of your music, but a great home for your mixes. Lots of radio shows and DJ’s are using it and seems like an obvious fit for your set.

Fanburst – The newcomer we recently discovered with an awesome way to share Albums and EP’s. The best part about Fanburst is that it’s totally free and has a powerful set of analytics tools. Definitely worth checking out, it’s pretty much Soundcloud but free for artists.

YouTube – Let’s not forget about the king of music and video sharing, with the recent launch of YouTube Red and a massive user base, Youtube is a tip top place to put your music. While YouTube lacks some social features, it makes up in the userbase. YouTube should definitely be in your swiss army knife of services.

While most 16-year-olds are concerned about their schoolwork and high school drama, Callie Reiff is preparing to make her Terminal 5 debut this weekend, opening for Big Gigantic, Hermitude, and Louis the Child – an impressive feat for any artist her age. Th New York native has been embroiled in the music industry all her life, teaching herself how to play the drums at the age of 12 by watching YouTube videos, before going on to learn how to DJ on vinyl and take production lessons at Dubspot. Now, she’s primed to put all of her considerable skills together to take the next step in her career and truly cement herself as the next, big women DJ in dance music. Reiff has just unveiled a short minimix ahead of her Terminal 5 debut, and it’s nothing short of phenomenal. Showcasing her developed tastemaking ability, the minimix flies through hits like Skrillex & MUST DIE’s “VIPs,” and Nero’s “Crush On You,” in between nearly eight or nine Callie Reiff edits and IDs. Last week, Matt Medved, Billboard Dance editor-in-chief and the DJ / producer, Sicarii, hosted a special “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit’s r/electronicmusic subreddit, where he was able to share his experiences as a dance music journalist and building Billboard Dance into the respected publication it is today. Medved began as a Berlin-based freelancer in 2014, but quickly established himself as one of Billboard Dance’s most important assets before joining the Billboard team for good in March of 2015. Since then, he has penned pieces with an eye towards ending the fight between the underground and the mainstream once and for all, in addition to trying to help keep cell phones in your pocket and off the dance floor. In addition to Medved’s work with Billboard, he recently unveiled his DJ / producer persona, Sicarii – and he’s already played Billboard’s Hot 100 Festival and remixed Maroon 5’s “Sugar.”

On his AMA, Matt Medved answered questions on a plethora of topics ranging from the role of ghost producers in dance music, to his favorite genre at the moment, to his favorite artist to see live. It’s not often that casual fans get a first-hand look at the experiences of someone as integrated in the scene as Matt Medved, so we’ve put together a list of our favorite moments from his AMA below the jump. You can check out Matt Medved’s full AMA here.
