House | MalLabel and Eko Zu Team Up For Powerful House Original “Let Me Fall”

Posted by on November 17, 2016

MalLabel is a San Fransico based level showcasing several new releases per week, the latest being an Eko Zu release, entitled “Let Me Fall” paired with a music video, which you can find above. The music video is more of a visual accompaniment than a full-on story, but the vibe fit. The feel is trippy and enjoyable regardless, fitting the vibe of the original.

Eko Zu impresses me with their style and branding, they are a trio, with a dark theme and some members wearing mysterious masks. Not your typical solo DJ here.

“Let Me Fall” is hard not to enjoy, the beat sets a nice tone that’s easy to get into, while the vocal takes the experience to the next level.

Chill | “The Gifted One (Sebastian Wibe Remix)” Is A Rock / Electro-Pop Hybrid You Should Hear

Mosimann is one of France’s biggest dance music producers, having been featured on a variety of national TV spots around the country (and Europe) as well as being one hell of a showman (Mosimann has also created a custom DJing tabletop that allows his fans to see him DJ during his live sets). His previous release “The Gifted One” was a dope present from the solo producer in 2016. He’s now expand the themes of this original more so with fresh remixes from the likes of Florian Kempers, Sebastian Wibe, Zetyd, and his own person edit of the tune.

It was “The Gifted One (Sebastian Wibe Remix)” that captured my attention today, the single is as if Sum 41 and an electronic pop song had a baby – a startling unique balance of raw boldness and power alongside glistening flowing electronic vocals, the platform for this being provided by Mosimann’s original production and the voice of Uhre. “The Gifted One (Sebastian Wibe Remix)” is not to be missed.

Bass | trentino & Big_Once’s VIP Remix Of Mr. Oizo & Skrillex’s “End Of The World” Is Straight Fire

Posted by on October 11, 2016

trentino and Big_Once have a history that will shock most. Both of them have won the Red Bull Thre3style US Championship, which is no easy feat to say the least. Now, they are turning their attention toward production, releasing a hybrid of of a tune that bass fans will dig, entitled “End Of The World (? trentino ? & Big_Once VIP).” trentino and Big_Once takes some of the heaviest genres, breaks and drum and bass, fusing them in a highly creative manner that’s down right fun.

Both of these guys have played hundreds of shows between them. If you ever get a chance to catch them live, do so. There isn’t a much better way to maximize the value if DJ skill is what you are seeking.

Bass, Chill | DEMUR Shows A Softer Side With “Stairs”

Posted by on October 11, 2016

DEMUR is at it again. With an edgy anarchist feel, the somewhat mysterious DJ/producer has released a new original entitled “Stairs”. The single is one of my favorites, containing some of the most melodic and catchy sounds that he is released yet.

A quick peek at his socials shows that he begun selling posters that resemble his brand, and is also starting a podcast series, the details of the new show is unknown at this point.

One thing I have to give DEMUR major credit for is that he’s actually different and seems like he’s trying to start somewhat of a new sound, props to that, check out DEMUR’s SoundCloud for more insight into his world.

After co-signing on Callie Reiff’s last track, “Tin Man,” via his NEST imprint, Skrillex invited the New York bass marvel to join him on the decks at the OWSLA x NYFW label showcase just last week. Callie Reiff has been turning heads since the 16 year old producer/DJ burst onto the scene, and she continues to do so but this time with the backing of A-Trak.

Releasing her Shadow Dancing EP via Fool’s Gold Records next month, she shares the first track, “Shadow Dancing,” that will certainly stir up some more noise in the bass scene. Heavy on the 808s and snarls, Callie Reiff drags listeners into a metallic death machine that could scare even the manliest men.
