Over the last couple of months Australian duo Midnight Pool Party have been busy working on awhole heap of new music that they plan to release over the coming months.
This week they are very excited to give us a taste of what we can expect from those sessions with the banging disco-house sounds of new single “ICON ENERGY”.
Fans of Dom Dolla, Fisher and Duke Dumont will be all over this one as Midnight Pool Party focus on bring some club energy into their staple disco-inspired sound. The result is really quite powerful and energetic with its big thumping beats, catchy disco clicks and Morilla’s infectious vocals. “We wanted to go back to a kinda more disco chill vibe for the next single. Instrumentallywe were inspired by the Remix PNAU did for Elton John and Dua Lipa “Cold Heart”. We also were inspired by a fewof Dua Lipa’s pop songs. A lot of the production behind her songs have inflections of disco and funk and we wanted to make a track that was catchyand poppy but with a disco flair.Lyricallythis is a song about walking away from toxic situations, focusing more on yourselfandnot letting anyone kill your vibe. TV Noise and Jessame’s “Think” has been FNT favorite. We loved it instantly when we heard it on The Magicians’ “Magic Tape” series a few months ago. Released on Spinnin’ Records, “Think” is one of those feel good disco tunes that you play 50 times in a row, and still aren’t tired of. If you listen to his 3 latest releases off of his EP Linear Love Story, there’s a certain super-fun, energetic flare the tracks convey that hits in just the right spot. The lively disco feel is hard to beat, Suken knows how to do it right.
