Chill, Electronic | Last Lynx – Curtains (Dinnerdate Remix)

Posted by on May 29, 2014

German producer DINNERDATE is on a roll lately. We’ve seen quite a number of delightful and diverse releases from him the past couple weeks, including his most recent with Fabich & Ferdinand Weber, “Souls Together.” This time around, he brings us a remix of the Swedish “60’s organic pop” group, Last Lynx. Dinnerdate put his signature touch on it, with those calm electronic house vibes that just carry you away into the sunset. Simply perfect.

Fabich & Ferdinand Weber, Dinnerdate - Souls Together
It’s late, you want something chill to wind down after a long day. In steps Dinnerdate country mates Fabich & Ferdinand Weber, who you may know under their alias Juun for a special, soothing deep house gem. Fully equipped with male vocal hooks and female shouts, the tune meanders along fluttering drums, chords and piano that come together exquisitely. Dinnerdate has been a solo operator to this point, but after seeing this track, I really hope he does more collabs.

Cocoon - Cathedral (Dinnerdate Remix)
Simon Hoppe has turned in the aggressive electro house records of his past for the chilled out tunes of Dinnerdate that he is putting out now. This may be the chillest remix he has done yet, perfect for sitting out on a mountain lake watching the sunrise with friends. He has loads of new music soon, including an EP, so let this freebee tide you over until then.

Chill, Deep House | Editors – Honesty (Dinner Date Remix)

Editors - Honesty (Dinner Date Remix)
Simon Shout’s deep house moniker, Dinner Date has been on fire since his first remix hit the interwebz and went number 1 on hype machine two separate times. He takes this 2013 tune from UK band Editors and adds his own chilled out deep house spin on it. Distorting the vocals, and reforming the percussion with some of his own, Dinner Date (probably a great one) mixes in subtle key play and guitars to create a soooooothing new tune form the Editors’ original. It’s another free download from the Miami based producer, so grab it now for your Sunday into Monday blues.

Chill, Mix | Easy Like Sunday Morning

Posted by on October 13, 2013

Happy Sunday Funday, y’all. I’ve been increasingly overwhelmed lately with the amount of good music accumulating out there in the universe so I’ve found bundling them up in little care packages to be the best solution to curing all the quiet moments in your day to day routine. Today’s playlist is a low-key musical journey to keep you feeling light and carefree throughout the entirety of your day.

A little indie, a little house, some trill-electro hip-hop reworks and one Drake and one Mr. Carmack track, because what would a playlist be these days without that.

So open up your windows and let the fresh air and sun shine on in. Make yourself a hearty breakfast, stay in bed, read an old book, take a walk, say something nice to the people you care about, turn on some football, spend an extra 15 minutes playing with your dog, or don’t do anything at all. Except play this mix, on repeat.

I wanna be high, so high, I wanna be free to know
The things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me, babe!
That’s why I’m easy
I’m easy like sunday morning…

House | BOY – Skin (Dinnerdate ‘Campfire’ Edit)

Posted by on June 14, 2013

BOY - Skin (Dinnerdate 'Campfire' Edit)Simon Shout announced a few months back that he was working on a side project that was something special, something different and we saw a few weeks ago the fruition of that hard work, Dinner Date. It is the deeper, less intense side of his sound that vibes with a lot of what we are seeing in the sort of counter-edm movement that has brought deep house into vogue and guys like Disclosure, Flume and Cashmere Cat so popular. In his second remix, he keeps the indie vibe of the original, with its playful guitar licks, while adding his own easy, deep, rolling bass line that does not overwhelm, but helps guide the track to its thoughtful conclusion. Also included is his previous remix. Be on the lookout for more Dinner Date, and put this on late night and let the soothing sounds carry you into a peaceful place.
