Electro, Mashups | R3hab & Swanky Tunes – Sending My Love (Kaskade MixMash)

Posted by on January 10, 2012

Another day, another straight banger of a mashup from Kaskade. As usual, the build on this track is insane, and once the vocals drop the energy somehow gets ratcheted up to yet another level. Kaskade has been churning out so many of these lately that at this point I don’t even think of them as mashups in the traditional sense — they’re awesome enough in their own right to be distinct from the originals. Note: this is *not* the same Kaskade remix of Sending My Love that has already been posted…it combines three of the remixes, including Kaskade’s own. It’s a remix of the remixes if you will.

In other EDM news, Ultra announced this afternoon that it has sold out in record time. Tough luck if you didn’t get tickets but this news definitely fired me up, because it confirms what I already knew: Ultra’s going to be bigger and crazier than ever this year. Who’s going, who’s going to be holding down the front row at Skrillex with me (my friend got punched in the face by a crazy chick at the Mothership Tour so I’m ready to fight shenanigans with shenanigans if need be), and who’s got predictions for phase 2 of the lineup? Maybe a little late play from Deadmau5? Maybe Alesso or Diplo? Would love to see Rusko and Nero on there too.

At any rate, when you’re struggling hard on the Sunday morning of Ultra and aren’t sure if you can put in a third straight day, crank this up in your hotel room as a little reminder that you’re not trying to pass up Kaskade.

Progressive House, Videos | Sander van Doorn vs. Kele feat. Lucy Taylor – What Did I Do

Posted by on December 26, 2011

Sander van Doorn has gone with Tiesto from his traditional uplifting trance sound into the realm of progressive house and has been incredibly successful. Though he still holds on to his roots in trance and you can hear a strong influence of trance in many of his songs, especially on his latest CD “Eleve11”, his foray into progressive house has been a huge success with songs such as “Koko”, “Who’s Wearing The Cap”, “Drink To Get Drink” and others. This song features a strong bassline, a sensitive piano melody in the build and a great synth breakdown, with some quality female vocals. Definitely a must have for all fans of house. Get it on BEATPORT.

DO SOMETHING

Hip-Hop, Videos | Sam Adams – Blow Up [Music Video]

Sammy recently dropped the first single, “Blow Up”off his debut LP, since inking a major deal with RCA Records at Sony.  A sprightly hook and verses his fans can relate to, Sam brings us back to the “I Hate College” days. Yes he has a fair amount of work to do to build himself back into the freshman that stunned the world with his debut EP release, but now with the proper tools in place I’m confident Sam’s going to be resurrecting his brand and reaching a new level of success.  Sammy traced back his roots and found himself shooting this video in Allston, MA where he first started to “Blow Up”.  Despite this being the first music video we’ve seen since “Still I Rise” with G. Curtis, this project encompasses every aspect necessary for national and international success and should kick start Boston’s Boy back onto the charts.  No confirmed date yet for the album, but we can definitely expect a grade A projet in 2012.

Jetpack Jones, formerly known as VenoM, gives us this dope new song. This great beat, crafted by Nite Moves, helps compliment Jetpack’s delivery and lyrics. This is off his upcoming mixtape Reincarnation, which will be available in 2012. Definitely hit this man up on Facebook, and look back for Reincarnation. Also Mr. Jones dropped video for the title track as well, so check that out here. Shouts to my boy Joseph for the scoop.

The “Pabst & Jazz” Sessions are finally here and just in time for the holidays. Asher Roth released the mixtape late last night after his show debuting the tracks in Chicago. The whole mixtape is dope beats and dope rhymes and definitely worth the download.

Electro, Hip-Hop | Busta Rhymes – Pass the Courvoisier (Andy’s iLL Refix)

Posted by on December 18, 2011

Blast from the past right here. Best part is, is that Andy didn’t ruin the track. Just added a little flavor, but made sure that Busta kept his classic flow. The flow that never has seemed to stopped, especially lately. This refix is definitely club and dance floor ready.
