Progressive House | Strange Talk – Picking Up All The Pieces (Marcus Santoro Remix) + Djuro & Marcus Santoro – Heroes (Original Mix)
Posted by Mel on November 20, 2013
Everyone knows that the amount of plain black or white v-necks an artist owns is a direct correlation to their production prowess, which is why it makes perfect sense that Marcus Santoro practically lives in v-necks. He has somehow managed to hold himself back from taking pictures of his dog and laptop screen long enough to release a couple of tracks for free. The first one being his remix of Strange Talk’s “Picking Up All The Pieces” that he completed some time ago but because of complications with labels and, of course, Avicii, it is just now seeing the light of day as a free download. The second is a new original done in collaboration with fellow Australian producer Djuro.
Hip-Hop | Mobb Deep – Hell On Earth (Nolan The Ninja Remix)
Posted by Mach on November 19, 2013
This remix seriously takes me back, feels like just yesterday it was 1996 and I was at my cousins house sneaking a listen of “Front Lines (Hell On Earth)” behind my moms back. Back in the day Mobb Deep set the stage for my hip-hop listening through the 90s. With the release of their up and coming self titled album, “Mobb Deep”, looming over the heads of all, it’s no wonder that Nolan The Ninja mixed a track from one of the best duos in hip-hop. I will refuse to say this is better than the original, that’s insulting to any great hip-hop track, but I do enjoy the different styling to this track that Nolan The Ninja brings. Definitely worth the listen.

RnB | The Weeknd – Devil May Cry

Ooooh Abel why you have to do em like that? No matter what you do, it just sounds so sensual and beautiful. Also, joining forces with the Hunger Games for their soundtrack and linking up with Rick Rubin for the production of this track, brilliant. This man can do no wrong. As usual, another phenomenal track by The Weeknd that you should definitely check out. Make sure to peep the rest of the new Hunger Games soundtrack as well, it usually doesn’t lack either.
Electronic, Trap | What So Not – Touched
Posted by Spice on November 7, 2013
What So Not, the buzzy duo consisting of Flume and Emoh, are back with a free DL for your Thursday. “Touched” features big 80s-inspired synth pads and a funky, rhythmic trap break — a somewhat unusual combination but one that works (and anyway, these guys do different very well). The chilled out, almost wistful vibe is definitely easy on the ears. Stream below and hop on the free DL.

Events | Black & Gold Party: UZ, K Theory, & Vital Riots @ The Graduate, Saturday 11/9/13
Posted by Nick on November 7, 2013
Big things coming to San Luis Obispo, CA this Saturday (09/NOV) – come out and see one of the original trap legends UZ tear up The Graduate in downtown SLO; and for those of you who haven’t had the distinct pleasure of going absolutely crazy to one of his tracks, this event is definitely a good place to start. UZ began posting on Soundcloud last year, and eventually got picked up by Jeffree’s, a sublabel of Mad Decent, to put out his “Trap Sh*t” series. All of the records in that installment are quality, and since then, the mystery man’s thrown down numerous other bangers under the likes of Mau5trap, BNR, Ultra, Owsla, and the rest: definitely a show you don’t want to miss. Get your tickets HERE.

In the meantime, here’s his new video with Trae Tha Truth, Problem, & Trinidad James to help you get psyched up for this weekend, and maybe shed some light on why heavy-hitting artists like Skrillex, Diplo, Flosstradamus, along with many others, have been backing this guy up:
Electronic | B.R.E.E.D – Acidate
Posted by yabishcic on November 6, 2013
I can’t really say that I’ve ever heard anything like this before, so its definitely worth the share. Reminding me of Thriftworks, it gives for a cinematic, acid funk, soul motion sort of music. With so many different sounds to listen to, this track is far from boring. Catch the rest from B.R.E.E.D on the album Binate.
Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Seven Lions On Taking Time Off From Touring, Upcoming Productions And More
Posted by Middy on November 6, 2013
There aren’t many guys who have created trends and styles in dance music today. Seven Lions’ patented brand of melodic dubstep has quickly become one of the go-to styles for a throng of copycats and established producers alike. After transitioning from metal to electronic music, Jeff Montalvo made his presence felt in a huge way with his Beatport competition winning remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, that would launch his career and open doors that were not even on possible for him to reach before.
We caught up with Seven Lions on his tour bus before he was slated to go on at Pier 94 on Halloween with Krewella, Gareth Emery, Candyland and Cash Cash. We chatted about his upcoming plans, including taking time off from touring next year, touring in general, releases he has coming up, music piracy and much more.
