It is where I, Middy, will be New Years, what show will you be at? I know many of you have been clamoring for some mixes for the end of the year, and I have been waiting to do this post for a while to get the best of the best and put it all in one. This one is packed with guys like Laidback Luke, Thomas Gold, Dirty South, Hard Rock Sofa, Zedd & more. The sets vary is the mixing and the song selection, but the theme is the same; these sets are all banging and are great to keep any party going. The Dada Life Mix makes you only go and get it for free on iTunes. There will be a second installment of this because there are so many good mixes, and it will come soon i promise. A 21st birthday and a debut release on the illustrious dance music mecca website that is Beatport? I would say that today was not a shabby day for young phenom Special Features. Not only is he now legally allowed to imbibe spirits of any flavor here in the States (preferably during a sold out show for a packed house in any of the number of wonderful clubs we have here in the US), but he is also able to brag to the ladies about how he is now an official professional musician (or does saying DJ get you more love?) Either way, Eden is killing it and this Dada Life remix is just one more example of how far he’s come. Well done man and happy birthday. Can’t wait for 2012. One more thing, get on Facebook and like his ass pronto!

First the release date on iTunes for “Fire and Ice” has been pushed up to the 24th so the excruciating wait for the album is lessened by a day. This video goes behind the scenes in how certain songs were made and how collaborations such as the Skrillex and Dada Life collabs came about. It is always interesting to see an artist work in the studio and how it all comes together. Pre-order the CD on iTunes HERE, or even better get the physical copy or get it on Beatport on November 8th because iTunes only gives about 10% to the artists.
I have two Halloween songs for you guys from Cazzette and Albin Myers. The first from Cazzette takes vocal samples from the 1980s classic “The Shining” and makes a great heavy electro track. The second is an Albin Myers take on the classic Halloween movie main theme.
