Chill, Electronic | Vancouver Sleep Clinic & GXNXVS – Hold On We’re Going Home (Drake Cover)

Posted by on January 28, 2014

I know we’ve all heard a lot of Drake covers and remixes recently, but Vancouver Sleep Clinic & GXNXVS’s cover is a standout. They did their own vocals, and basically flipped the whole song around. Their take on the song is incredibly refreshing. Chill and eerie, the bass filled choruses will take your mind to another place. They’ve taken experimental R&B to another level. This moody and sultry track is definitely worth a listen, or five.

Passenger - Let Her Go (Arias Vision)Just like that, an artist gets hot and the deluge of remixes and covers begins. Passenger has quickly fallen into that category, but Parisian producer Arias adds a worthy contribution that cuts right through the rest. Arias brings his unique progressive style seen on his tracks this year to this remix, completely refitting the instrumental to his vision and molding the vocals to his sound. Okay, so I know a lot of covers and remixes of this song have been exponentially blogged on every single site but for the sake of this one, this remix is going up. It’s of the best integration of Hip Hop and R&B that I’ve heard in awhile, and lets be honest, the original is pretty catchy to begin with. Check it.

UMF 2013UMF 15 was historic, it was epic, it was monstrous. It was the swan song of Swedish House Mafia and saw two weekends of performances from the best and brightest worldwide. A four minute teaser was released in April, but now the full, 17 minute aftermovie from Final Kid, has come to fruition. It covers all of the bases and will bring memories flooding back for everyone in attendance.

House | AC Slater & Anna Lunoe – All Night

AC Slater & Anna Lunoe - All NightI am generally pretty skeptical of covers, especially taking songs into different genres, but AC Slater & Anna Lunoe nailed it. It is more of a remix / cover, then a pure cover, since it only takes bits and pieces of the original “Power Trip” from J Cole & Miguel. The track takes a simple vocal motif, spins it into new light with Anna Lunoe seductive voice and adds an irresistible groove, with a mixture of deep and bright synths. It is free, so just get it now. He is also a part of Jack Beat’s upcoming remix EP, coming next week, so preview that below.

Cover, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – Home (Phillip Phillips Cover)

Posted by on July 30, 2013

The ever magnificent, phenomenal singing, beautiful, talented, Connor Zwetsch has given us her latest cover. Now that I’ve gotten my adjectives for today’s post out of the way, I can get down to the nitty gritty. You all know Connor has got the pipes, but what some of you might not know, is her songwriting ability. In addition to being able to blow the cover off of covers, her originals are majestic also. There are plenty of people that can sing other people’s songs well, and Connor can do that, but the real talent comes from being able to create their own magic, and Connor Zwetsch can do that. I guess what I’m getting at is: enjoy these covers, but keep in mind that the originals are coming too, and they will be incredible. Believe me.
