At this year’s International Dance Music Awards at Miami Music Week, Hardwell raked in an incredible 5 awards including Best Compilation/Full-Length DJ mix that was given for “Revealed 5.” Heading into its 6th Volume this year, Hardwell’s Revealed compilation series has become an example of quality with every installment and this year’s follows in the same footsteps. Revealed Volume 6 is the finest big room tracks out there with names like Dannic, Tiesto & KSHMR, Dyro, Nom De Strip, and Hardwell composing the tracks that make up the compilation. Collectives are all the rage right now. Moving Castle has stood out among the rest as this group of Internet kids seem to have some serious creativity in the tank. Founding member AOBeats, Manila Killa, and Robokid started this project as a way to push each other to become better producers and they have now pulled in over 15 artists to build what Moving Castle is today. Their latest compilation, Volume 004, really steps up their love for bass-ridden genres and playful accents with the collective bringing in a couple newcomers to feature their tracks. One newcomer, Chet Porter, really shined with his track “Aluko River” that seems to take on a fantastical nature and really transport listeners into a dream-like world. Last week, Ultra Music, one of dance music’s premier North American record labels, announced the release of Ultra Dance 16, a huge compilation showcasing the imprint’s year of music in 2014. The compilation was released today – the same day as the 20th anniversary of the launch of the iconic record label – to commemorate the accomplishment of such a monumental milestone. Ultra Dance 16 illustrates Ultra’s distinguished roster of dance music influencers including Calvin Harris, Clean Bandit, and Hardwell in addition to their promising list of newcomers with Oliver Heldens, Kygo, and Robin Schulz leading a new wave of talent for the label.
