The combination of the people on this track was a precursor to just how good this track was going to be. As much as I expected out of this song, it surpassed any and all expectations. The beginning with Lido’s chorus then slows down into a beautiful synthy piano to compliment Towkio’s flow then switching to the juke style beat to let you reminisce just how good Chance’s flow is over that type of beat. Bliss. A group of young individuals who are ahead of the artist curve, and all are paving the way for themselves to solidify their stay in the music industry. Look out for Towkio’s mixtape coming out soon, Lido’s LP, and Chance’s SURF project with the SOX. Good music is on the way so rejoice! In the mean time, let this hold you over.

Gryffin has gotten soundcloud famous very quickly. In the matter of 8 months from his first remix of John Newman “Love Me Again” to this “Begging For Thread” alongside Hotel Garuda that has incredible momentum behind it, things have really taken off for the NYC producer. BANKS has been a popular artist to remix and the combination works perfectly here as the three producers use the vocal, chopping it and manipulating it as well as I have heard in a remix, setting it over deep plucks and distant, reverbed guitars riffs. As per usual with these three, the tune is a free download, so make sure you grab it below.

Doing some crate digging, this remix by Mountain Of Youth of L A Y L A’s “Smokestacks” happened to be streaming on my SoundCloud without even me paying attention until the track hit the 2 minute mark, and I’m like “what is this? This is dope!.” What they call Music for your Soul at 100 BPM, they sure do explore new depths. With a combination of wind chimes, piano chords that I could only decribe by comparing them to those 2 notes that start playing in 90’s detective movies when you know shit’s about to go down, and some futuristic bass, you’re in for a treat. As the line between house music and hip-hop grows ever-closer, YoAstrum once again finds himself nicely situated between both worlds. His latest song, “Heav3n”, is a mere two-minutes long and features an instrumental canvas laid out by Mr. Carmack, and Tk Kayembe. The song is both catchy and unique, a perfect combination for your Tuesday night.

The combination of $aturn and Skrux caught my attention immediately, and I knew this would be a good track. $aturn has been putting out a good bunch of “lovetrap” style songs recently, and getting Skrux involved could only make them better. In this track called “Cross Roads ft. Skrux” each drop is different and exciting. While remaining melodic, this original trap song takes many twists and turns. Good Guy Bassnectar is back in action with a funky, global-tinged remix to honor Cheb i Sabbah, an innovative producer/composer of electronica who recently lost his battle with cancer. In Lorin’s words:
“Chebiji” as he was affectionately known passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with stomach cancer over 2 years ago. At that time he was given 4 weeks to live and through a combination of alternative therapies funded by his friends and fans, along with a sheer will to live, he exceeded all expectations for someone with an advanced stage of cancer.
We are releasing this special remaster as a benefit to his family: he has two kids and three grandkids, who are largely dependent on him. All the proceeds from this remix will go straight to the family.

What So Not, the buzzy duo consisting of Flume and Emoh, are back with a free DL for your Thursday. “Touched” features big 80s-inspired synth pads and a funky, rhythmic trap break — a somewhat unusual combination but one that works (and anyway, these guys do different very well).
