After hitting impressing us with his dubstep remixes to Krewella’s Strobelights and Rihanna’s We Found Love, Jakers left us hungry for more. His latest release is a remix to Relapse off of Collin McLoughlin’s latest EP Stark Perspective. Jakers takes the original track for a ride to produce a truly unique moombahton-influenced piece.

Albums, Trance | Breakfast – The Deep End EP Review

Casey Keyworth or “Breakfast” is an American Trance DJ from the Annapolis Maryland, DC area, who is starting to make waves in the trance industry. His tracks have been supported by all the big names, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Above & Beyond and others and has been known as a master remixer as you guys saw with his “From The Earth” remix. He just released his first artist album and it is an excellent album with some of his well-known tracks that have been played for crowds around the world such as “Air Guitar” and “Horizon” as well as new tracks that are bound to be hits.
The CD varies in sound with each song having a different feel. They are all instrumental tracks which is slightly disappointing, but it emphasizes the production quality of the instrumental. These tracks are not the classic 90s trance nor are they new trance 2.0 style but more of a mix and something different that is interesting. I picked out a few of my favorites for you guys to listen to. Get the album on Beatport HERE. He also just put out a free 30 minute 5 song E.P that is absolutely outstanding. It seamlessly goes between the songs and shows the variety of styles Keyworth uses. The extended mixes will be available on Christmas Day. Check Breakfast out on Facebook, Twitter, and his website.

Blu is the most under-rated rapper of his time and one of the very few still left painting this language with color. Blu, if you let him will amalgamate your thoughts together for an explosion of sophisticated wisdom, a firm reminder that we haven’t lost all our lyricists just yet. Hip Hop has been consumed by senseless lyricism, candy electro beats and worst of all – generations to come have only this garbage to draw inspiration from. Artists such as Blu fly so far out from the boundaries of mainstream music, they occupy another dimension of lyricism. They remain significantly unknown because there’s not enough of us to relate to such genius, only few are privileged to know it exists. Moral of the story – it takes one to know one.
Now what should deeply astonish you is the relevancy of this video above, not only does Blu rap but he’s also a phenomenon in motion art. That video is one of his many masterpieces symbolizing his godlike patience. One of the best videos you will ever watch in this lifetime, I guarantee it.

DJ-Set, Progressive House | Swanky Tunes – 2011 Annual Report

The end of the year means end of the year mixes from some of the best DJs in the world and one of the first to surface is the 2011 Annual Report from Swanky Tunes. This mixes all the releases that they have done this year into a 72 minute house marathon. They have had a brilliant year and will only continue to get better, so be sure to watch for their upcoming releases such as their “Calling” remix with R3hab and others in 2012.
