Chill, Hip-Hop | Chance the Rapper – Lift Up

Posted by on July 23, 2012

Loyal Chance the Rapper fans will realize that this song is a few months old. But in my opinion, it did not get the blog love that it deserved. Chance shows off another facet of his game in Lift Up, where he croons smoothly and soulfully, reminiscent of Long Time II and Cordial Invite. The instrumental is slow and matches the vibe given off by Chance perfectly. The song was originally recorded with a group Milo and Otis, and was released on their album, The Joy, which is why it wasn’t seen on the blogosphere.

Dubstep | R Rated #30

Posted by on May 23, 2012

This week released some insane dubstep tracks for R Rated, even a few non-dubstep tracks that earn their way onto the post. Sev provided this weeks first killer tune for R this week. Why no one has ever made a remix like this of this track baffles me, but who am I to complain when this remix from Divine X now exists.

With the Rage Valley EP officially dropping May 27th, it only seems right to include a nasty remix of Knife Party. Tolgar blew my ****ing mind with this remix, the synth and bass work is insane. Prepare yourselves.

DUBSurce has always pleased my ears with some sick dubstep jams. None of which can compare to this dirty track he just dropped. The drumstep really goes off without flaw, making you want more and more of it.

Another one of Adele’s most over remixed tracks, ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ has the vocals that everyone wants to use. I am still a huge fan of Cazzette’s remix, but Audio Punk knew the sweet spot to hit with me. This remix is awesome, the vocal positioning is great and the bass work is epic.

Dubstep | Skrillex & Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem (Poisound Remix)

Posted by on April 26, 2012

Poisound already destroying this remix before the single is even released. Highly known for his crazy, spastic Internet Friends remix, this one tops it for me. How can you say no to some 110 BPM goodness especially with some reggae vibes from Damian Marley. I can see Skrill dropping this one once he gets a chance to listen to it; big ups to Poisound. RUDEBOY BASS!

Electro-House, Moombahton | Alvin Risk — Infinity EP

Posted by on April 25, 2012

This new Alvin Risk EP contained a different side of Alvin we haven’t ever seen. I was sort of disappointed with this EP, not because he chose to do something different, but just because of the fact that some of the songs didn’t contain that appleaing Alvin Risk signature style that that fans have grown to love. I will admit though, I was a little disheartened when the we first got the EP track listing that his collaborations with Skrillex weren’t included. I should have seen if coming though being it does have Skrillex’s name on the track and all. With that being said, two out of the four tracks on here are pretty dope tracks. Survival has some of the most intricate combinations of laser synth sounds, alongside Sirah’s vocals. Same thing with Psychotic; bringing some crazy synth sounds along with an up-beat tempo. Infinity and Pray lacked the Alvin Risk esque style, which is why I wasn’t a fan of the tracks, nevertheless give each track a chance. You can grab the EP on Beatport HERE.

Exclusive | Max Burnside- Do You Wanna (Remix)

Posted by on April 19, 2012

Getting hit up multiple times via Twitter with a submission is the worst. Bloggers like myself know it all too well. If you’re persistent enough, we may just break down and listen to the song. Up and coming producer-singer-songwriter Max Burnside made me do just that, and I’m happy I gave it a chance, reminding us all that persistence often pays off. Recently finishing runner up in Deadmau5’s “Mau5hax” competition, Max recently dropped his “I’m NO DJ” EP that has steadily been climbing the blogosphere. Today, he drops off an exclusive remix of Mike Posner’s “Do You Wanna” for the FreshNewTracks nation, incorporating jazzy horns and saucy synths sure to get the party started. If you like what you hear, download his EP below.
