Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Life’s a Beach ft. Reem Riches (Prod. By D.Shuts)

Posted by on October 21, 2012

FNT favorite(and veteran) Jetpack Jones releases ANOTHER free, quality, single for his loyal crew. Although I believe that the whole concept of “life is a beach(bitch?)” is overused, the message behind it is deep and meaningful. Jetpack conveys that message in a unique, catchy, and fun way, as he does with so many other mantras. Hip-Hop, Rap | Chance the Rapper – Bout A Dolla (ft. Chuck Inglish, Chip tha Ripper, and Twista) + Living in Vain

Posted by on August 7, 2012

Probably the longest title I’ve ever written. But that’s good for you guys, because it means you get TWO new Chance the Rapper tunes. Chance has been on fire lately, and has graciously dropped these two gems off to please his loyal followers. The first track, has 3 features from rapper’s who can all kill a track equally. But Chance shines and makes the track his bitch(am I allowed to say that?). Although, Twista’s verse(final verse) was incredible by any standards, the fact that he had to follow Chance made it tough for him to win my praise. The second track has a slower, more gospely feel. The beautiful crooing is done by Lorine Chia, and will be featured on her upcoming album. Grab both of the tracks for free below and make sure you follow Chance on twitter and like his facebook page

Hip-Hop | J. Cole – Behind The Scenes: Cole World (Video)

Posted by on October 4, 2011

In my eyes J. Cole is the future of hip-hop. His grassroots style mirrors the work of some of the games greatest artists. The album encompasses J. Cole’s musical career, tying together all the ends from The Come Up, The Warm Up, Friday Night Lights and all releases preceding the album.  As Jay-Z shares in this short video, he is interested in building artists, not just one hit wonders.  While big Jay has been preaching to little J. for the past couple of years, Cole has been absorbing Hova’s words and applying them to his own work.  Here’s a very brief look into some of the behind the scenes work that went into the album, along with a few words from Roc Nation’s CEO, Jay-Z.  This is really just a tease for me because I know the countless hours of work that went into this album are poorly represented here.  I might be happy with a hour or longer culmination of behind the scenes work.

“Jigga wouldn’t even take my CD when he seen me
Two years later bitch we made it on, on to the Blueprint
Now how’s that for persistence?” –J.Cole

P.S. I wanted to give you guys a full album review, but the server was giving me some issues, so if you want to talk #ColeWorld, hit me on twitter and we can chop it up.

Purchase Cole World: The Sideline Story on iTunes (I really, really, really, really, recommend doing so)

Hip-Hop | Skizzy Mars- Tara

Posted by on September 4, 2011

Skizzy Mars released this bit, maybe a month ago? So far from me being on top of my game. Apologies. His instrumentals are the epitome of flow, as he raps about this tough bitch named Tara. I’m all about the strong female image…oh and wit. He samples No Doubt during the chorus tying in the image of a strong independent female.
P.S: So glad to be back at Camp…I mean, college.

Electro | Sabi – Wild Heart

Posted by on August 6, 2011

This is so far from what I usually post/listen to, but its so devilishly good. If you take Rihanna’s catchiness minus the annoying nasal voice, add the production team of a dubstep and dance song, sprinkle some natural talent and a hook for the ages and you get Sabi’s “Wild Heart.” You will be hearing this on the radio at some point, I can bet you that. This is more a female song, but if you’re comfortable enough with your masculinity then you can rock out as well. This song just makes me want to wear leather, be a badass bitch with a flask of Goose and have a penchant for trouble. How saucy.

Hip-Hop | DJ Khaled ft Ace Hood, Meek Mill, Wale, Vado, & Big Sean – Future

Posted by on July 19, 2011

Just another hit from the most annoying DJ out. Features a few of the future leaders of the hip hop game, so glad they put Ace Hood on this; still not sure about Big Sean but his verse is something else.

Bitch I’m the rap game stylist, cause I gave the rap game style bitch
