Progressive House | Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautiful (Moiez Remix)

Posted by on July 10, 2013

Lana Del Rey - Young & Beautiful (Moiez Remix)It has been a little while since I have posted something from the Vancouver native, Moiez, but he has had a great 2013 making his way to the MainStage at Spring Awakening in Chicago earlier this summer, alongside names like the Bingo Players, Dirty South, Nero and Moby. Lana Del Rey has become the Adele of dance music remixes and it leads to some pretty egregious over-remixing, but do give this one a shot with its quick moving key play and a crisp bass line. In the future look for more remixes coming soon from Moiez and an official remix package for “Young and Beautiful” that includes one from Kaskade.

Electro-House | Dada Life – Boing Clash Boom (Remixes)

Posted by on June 5, 2013

Dada Life – Boing Clash Boom (Remixes)Dada Life‘s album “The Rules Of Dada” has already seen remixes from the likes of Tiesto and Dillon Francis, and now can add the Bingo Players, Major Lazer and Pierce Fulton to the list. While the two bigger names are somewhat expected and add their own unique character to the track, Pierce Fulton should be no surprise, since he recently was a performer at the Dada Life compound in San Francisco a few weeks ago. It is cool to see Pierce getting picked up for such high profile remixes, he deserves it.

The remixes are all quite different and each brings something unique from each other and from the original. Major Lazer go for a slower trapped out stylistic change, while Pierce adds his own chunky bass line in place of the traditional Dada Life electro drop, and the Bingo Players add a jarring acid fueled drop that takes a little while to get used to, but really works in the context of the song. If you are in NYC this weekend, Pierce is turning 21 on Saturday, so come to Lavo and get weird with him as Pierce has his first drink ever and potentially shotguns a beer with you after the show. Get tickets here.

Electro-House | Bingo Players – Buzzcut

Posted by on May 20, 2013

Bingo Players - BuzzcutThe Bingo Players have become synonymous with quality. Leading the way for their label, Hysteria Recordings, their singles from “Rattle” to “Out Of My Mind” have remained mainstays of DJ sets all across the spectrum. “Buzzcut” departs from their signature synth that has made their sound so unique and a cut above the pack, going for a grinding low end, with a punchy, hardstyle influenced, alternating bass line and teasing, pitched builds. Is this their strongest effort to date? I would have to say no, since it seems to merge towards the trends in dance music, instead of remaining unique, but it is still a good addition to the Bingo Players discography. Oh, and also if you want there is a video of Melanie Iglesias getting a glove show in almost no clothing with “Buzzcut” as the soundtrack, if you want to watch, up to you.

Electro-House | Bingo Players – Out Of My Mind (Dada Life Remix)

Posted by on April 1, 2013

The Bingo Players are a noted quality over quantity producer duo who relentlessly crank out some of the biggest tracks each year without fail. “Out Of My Mind” was no different with their signature synth that found its way into the sets of many far and wide, including many at this past UMF. They gave the remix duties to the grounded chieftains of Dada Land, who take their sausage fattener and turn it up a notch on the hit single from the Bingo Players. Dada Life do not mess with the winning formula from the dutchmen, rather only accentuate its strengths, letting the melody shine, while adding their own powerful low end in the style of the original that makes it patently Dada Life, but also leaves the Bingo Player’s imprint known as well.

The Bingo Players consistently come out with some of the most unique tracks in dance music. Their tracks like “Rattle”, “L’amour” and “Mode” all will bring a crowd to a frenzy no matter the situation and you will be able to put “Out Of My Mind” into that mix as well. With a fitting female top line and signature pitched Bingo Players synth lead, this track gives all you need to know it is one of theirs and is just another in a long line of a quality over quantity discography.
