bingo Paul Baümer Of Bingo Players Passes Away After Battle With Cancer

Last night, the whole EDM community lost an influential, fun, and well-liked member. Paul Baümer, half of  the Dutch duo Bingo Players, passed away after his five-month battle with cancer.

This morning, his bandmate Maarten Hoogstraten posted the tragic news to the artists’ Facebook page saying:

Although the news came as a shock to many in the community, Paul posted about his diagnosis on July 19 after missing a series of summer performances. He was a character with many fans that looked up to him, especially after the Bingo Players’ hit track “Rattle” that debuted in 2012. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. Look out for more updates from the FNT team.

Jordy Dazz Torpedo 500x500 Jordy Dazz Torpedo

Hysteria Records has been the label outlet for the Bingo Players and their madness inducing tracks, ranging from MAKJ’s “Springen”, to Henry Fong, Mike Hawkins & Pablo Oliveros “Jump”. The label has been a champion of the powerful, big room style at we have seen this year. Revealed Records favorite and Hysteria Records veteran, Jordy Dazz gives us a powerful electro track, that sounds like a race car accelerating and decelerating. Coming up, Jordy Dazz has productions with Bassjackers, Cash Cash and more, as his onslaught of heavy electro continues into the winter and 2014.

Progressive House | Introducing: Lush & Simon

Lush Simon 620x413 Introducing: Lush & SimonLooking for the next bandwagon to hop on? Well here it is. Italian duo, Alessandro Miselli & Simone Pioltelli or Lush & Simon are set to become the next big-room stars. I compare what I see happening to them in the next year, to what just happened to Vicetone, it is coming. Their remixes are both melodic and powerful, bringing out the best of the originals, while putting their own big-room touch on the tracks.

They have already seen support from the likes of Tiesto, Nicky Romero, Hardwell, Bingo Players, Thomas Gold, Deniz Koyu and more. These two are only getting started and before you know it, your favorite DJs will be playing their tracks out and they may be playing at your favorite venue. They have an upcoming track “City Of Lights” that has already been played on Tiesto, Hardwell and Nicky Romero’s radio shows. You can preview that track below along with 2 of their best remixes. More tracks after the jump.

Progressive House | Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautiful (Moiez Remix)

artworks 000052621558 rcjglr original 500x500 Lana Del Rey Young & Beautiful (Moiez Remix)It has been a little while since I have posted something from the Vancouver native, Moiez, but he has had a great 2013 making his way to the MainStage at Spring Awakening in Chicago earlier this summer, alongside names like the Bingo Players, Dirty South, Nero and Moby. Lana Del Rey has become the Adele of dance music remixes and it leads to some pretty egregious over-remixing, but do give this one a shot with its quick moving key play and a crisp bass line. In the future look for more remixes coming soon from Moiez and an official remix package for “Young and Beautiful” that includes one from Kaskade.

Electro-House | Dada Life – Boing Clash Boom (Remixes)

Posted by on June 5, 2013

7499613 Dada Life – Boing Clash Boom (Remixes)Dada Life‘s album “The Rules Of Dada” has already seen remixes from the likes of Tiesto and Dillon Francis, and now can add the Bingo Players, Major Lazer and Pierce Fulton to the list. While the two bigger names are somewhat expected and add their own unique character to the track, Pierce Fulton should be no surprise, since he recently was a performer at the Dada Life compound in San Francisco a few weeks ago. It is cool to see Pierce getting picked up for such high profile remixes, he deserves it.

The remixes are all quite different and each brings something unique from each other and from the original. Major Lazer go for a slower trapped out stylistic change, while Pierce adds his own chunky bass line in place of the traditional Dada Life electro drop, and the Bingo Players add a jarring acid fueled drop that takes a little while to get used to, but really works in the context of the song. If you are in NYC this weekend, Pierce is turning 21 on Saturday, so come to Lavo and get weird with him as Pierce has his first drink ever and potentially shotguns a beer with you after the show. Electro-House | Bingo Players – Buzzcut

Posted by on May 20, 2013

7391628 Bingo Players BuzzcutThe Bingo Players have become synonymous with quality. Leading the way for their label, Hysteria Recordings, their singles from “Rattle” to “Out Of My Mind” have remained mainstays of DJ sets all across the spectrum. “Buzzcut” departs from their signature synth that has made their sound so unique and a cut above the pack, going for a grinding low end, with a punchy, hardstyle influenced, alternating bass line and teasing, pitched builds. Is this their strongest effort to date? I would have to say no, since it seems to merge towards the trends in dance music, instead of remaining unique, but it is still a good addition to the Bingo Players discography. Oh, and also if you want there is a video of Melanie Iglesias getting a glove show in almost no clothing with “Buzzcut” as the soundtrack, if you want to watch, up to you.
