One of the best parts about Mysteryland USA, aside from its absolutely stellar lineup and even more impressive culture & arts offerings, is its strong tie to music history, thanks to the festival’s founding ethos’ as well as its festival grounds at Bethel Woods, the home of the original Woodstock. Mysteryland USA is a bit of a history lesson itself, as the Netherlands-based brand is the longest-running festival in the world, and Bethel Woods was the home to one of the most renowned festivals in the world. Mysteryland’s newest trailer for its 2016 edition manages to capture that exact relationship, from the old-school days of music, to the newer, dance-driven scene that is front and center at the festival. This trailer is nothing short of awesome, so check it out above.

The third iteration of Mysteryland USA is right around the corner, and as we count down the days until June 10th, there’s a lot to plan, and even more to listen to. The ID&T-produced festival has already unveiled two phases of its stand-out lineup, and this year promises to be the biggest and best edition of the festival in America to date. Over the course of two days, nearly 100 artists will call Bethel Woods home, from headliners like ODESZA, Skrillex, and Bassnectar, to stellar undercard offerings like Gesaffelstein, Claude VonStroke, REZZ, amongst others, spread across six stages of bumping music. With so many can’t-miss artists to see, and even more activities to do at the festival, it’s tough to decide which artists take priority, and which ones will fall by the wayside, and schedule conflicts only serve as yet another source of anxiety before the festival.

In a new editorial series leading up to this year’s Mysteryland USA, we’re spotlighting an artist on the lineup that we consider can’t-miss for the weekend. Whether its because of a phenomenal live show, a brand new album, or stellar DJing skills, we hope that this spotlight series will help you wade through some of teh schedule conflicts easier. You can get your tickets to Mysteryland here.

This week’s Mysteryland USA spotlight is the masked man, Claptone.

When Mysteryland touched down in Bethel Woods last year, it brought one of Europe’s most iconic festival brands to America. Mysteryland has always offered a nearly unmatched blend of music and art, making it one of the most popular festival in the world, and Mysteryland USA was no different. This year, for the second iteration of Mysteryland in the states, the festival will be featuring the musical talents of Kygo, Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson, Damian Lazarus, and many more, as well as welcoming the return of the Smorgusburg food festival, a refreshing aspect that only serves to further separate Mysteryland from the typical festival. While it’s a monumental task to capture the ethos and essence of the twenty-year-old festival brand in a short four minute video, Mysteryland’s brand new trailer highlights their signature stage design, breathtaking shots of Bethel Woods, and gives insight into the festival’s long past.
