Indie | Gryffin and Manila Killa Join Forces to Release the Song of the Summer
Posted by Juicebox on May 10, 2016
Gryffin has been the mastermind behind some of the year’s best remixes, including his take on Troye Sivan’s “Youth” and CHVRHCES’ “Clearest Blue,” but with summer fast approaching, he’s joined forces with Manila Killa on a stunning take of Jack Garratt’s “Surprise Yourself” that we’ll be bumping for the rest of the year. This remix is signature Gryffin infused with trademark Manila Killa, as Jack Garratt’s infectious croons are bolstered by soaring synth arpeggios and a bumping bassline. Check it out above and keep an eye out for more Gryffin and Manila Killa coming in the future.

We may not know who Slushii is, but we don’t really mind, especially if he’s putting out music as good as this! Slushii recently signed to the Canadian-based Monstercat imprint, and to celebrate, he’s just put out a remix of That Poppy’s “Lowlife” that we can’t stop bumping. The remix is Slushii at his finest, as he lays down wavy synths with a pulsing bassline that will have you grooving on the dance floor.
Bass | Markus Cole Gives “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” A Fresh Pop Remix Feeling
Posted by VMan on April 12, 2016
This one hits your right in the feels.
Markus Cole has been around for a bit, landing on numerous blogs and locking down spots on notable mainstage DJ’s podcasts/radioshows. But it’s “Naughty Boy – Runnin’ (Lose It All) Ft. Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin (Markus Cole Remix)” and another track track he released a month ago that are attention grabbers. The former will be the focus here.
From the very start “Runnin’ (Lose It All) (Markus Cole Remix)” brings the listener to a relaxed state via the familiar voice and lyrics. The added production from Markus is noticed and enhances/refreshes the experience overall. It’s not until the drop that you get hit with this “woah” moment behind your computer screen. The rattling, roaring bassline is fresh, but fitting compared to the entirety of the remix – which is catchy in itself.
This is one not to be missed.
House | Jasper Dietze and Aaron Richards Release Their Cover of The Weeknd’s “In the Night”
Posted by Tay on March 10, 2016
Jasper Dietze may only have a few records to his name, but it seems like the up-and-coming star gets better with each and every release. After dazzling the dance music community with his sun-kissed take on Kygo’s “Firestone” last year, the dance newcomer has garnered an impressive following with his accessible, evocative take on deep house that borrows elements from tropical house and pop. For his most recent effort, Dietze enlists Aaron Richards to flip The Weeknd’s “In the Night” on its head, turning it into a slowed-down deep house anthem that truly showcases the Dutch DJ’s talents. Dietze lays down a bed of luscious piano melodies intricately woven with deep synth arrangements and a pulsating bassline.
