Progressive House | Axwell – Center Of The Universe

Posted by on June 10, 2013

Axwell - Center Of The UniverseLord oh Lord, finally Axwell. First revealed to the public in 2009, we at last have the original mix of Axwell’s monster track “Center Of The Universe”. He has been a busy man post, SHM, releasing a downtempo remix for Discopolis’ “Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion)”, the Beatport number one remode of “Center Of The Universe”, his collaboration with Sebastian Ingrosso for Monsters University “Roar” and now this. It is showing that the breakup of SHM might have been a good thing after all.

You probably know the song by now, so there is no need to give you a detailed description, however it is pure blissful Axwell music that is becoming rarer and rarer in house music today, which is why we should cherish producers like Axwell who can remain to successful and consistent over a long period of time. The full extended version is not out yet, but you can grab the radio edit on iTunes below.

They were a part of the 2011 vocal anthem “Walking Alone” with Dirty South, as well as releasing “Burn Forever” late last year on Phazing Records. House | Axwell – Center Of The Universe (Remode)

Posted by on May 30, 2013

Axwell - Center Of The UniverseHe is back. After 2 years of no single releases, we finally have something from the man, the myth, the legend, Axwell. One of the giants in house music, he takes his time perfecting every little detail in his tracks and it shows not only in release rate, but also the quality that is seen in his discography.

“Center of the Universe” has been in circulation for several years now and the anticipation and excitement for it has not dwindled since the day it was first played to the public. With the remode of this potent track, Axwell goes for the pool party vibe, with a nuanced, well crafted true-to-the-name house approach, stripping the track of its big melody and concentrating on the groove and a delicate piano melody. There is no word on when the original will be released, but I cannot wait until then. I personally am more of a fan of the original, but the remode will be just fine until that day, whenever it may come.

Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso – 555 (9Five Re-Edit)
So the story behind this song is a bit confusing, but I have slowly started to piece together what is going on here. 9Five is a Swedish duo that have remained under the radar to many people, but are ready to burst onto the scene with a hard drive filled with outstanding IDs. This edit you may recognize from Axwell’s Carlsberg “Where’s The Party” ad last year that really shocked people with its in your face style not familiar to what Axwell normally produces, while more acute listeners IDed it as an edit of Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello‘s “555?. We have waited a long time for any info on this track and for it to be released like this is outstanding. It has already been supported by the likes of Axwell and Tommy Trash, with that list surely expected to grow. Now out for free download, you would be remiss not to immediately get this free download from 9Five that is sure to explode soon.

Progressive House | Discopolis – Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion) [Axwell Radio Edit]

Posted by on May 5, 2013

Axwell - FallingArguably the most revered of the three Swedish House Mafia members, Axwell always makes it count when he attaches his name to a release in his incredibly strong discography. Recently he has been quiet on the release front, having not released official remixes (not mixes) or originals since 2011. He breaks that silence now with this remix of Edinborough based foursome Discopolis.

The Axtone headman takes a very different approach from the previously released DubVision remix, going for a somewhat unexpected 105 bpm downtempo style, keeping much of the original rock sound of the original, while imbuing it with his own soothing house flare. With countless unreleased tracks still to come from Axwell, we can only hope this means more will come soon.

Progressive House | Sebjak & Marcus Schossow – Liceu

Posted by on April 29, 2013

Marcus Shossow & Sebjak - LiceuSteve Angello‘s Size Records continues its onslaught of outstanding releases in 2013 with Marcus & Schossow & Sebjak‘s single “Liceu“. With singles such as “Hit It” and “Champs” still quite popular, and with many more on the way, Size Records is showing the potency of a label head with his attention solely focused on his craft and the label’s.

“Liceu” is a unique take on the minimal festival tracks we have seen take over charts and sets recently. Dominated by a prominent brass section and a bouncy bass line, this track from the two Swedes is one that is sure to leave a strong imprint on this year. Both Swedes are poised to have big 2013, with Sebjak making waves with his “Rave” remixes, and Marcus Schossow recently being signed to Axwell‘s prestigious Axtone Records, and this record is just the beginning.
