Renowned radio presenter and DJ Charlie Hedges takes on Gala’s hit single ‘Freed From Desire’ for her debut outing on the hit-making imprint, Perfect Havoc. Breathing new life into the nineties Top 10 single, Charlie enhances the original with a fresh club-ready buildup and drop, with pumping rave tent synths that fits oh so perfect with the singalong chorus. As the presenter of Dance Anthems on BBC Radio 1 there couldn’t be anyone better fitting to take on Gala’s bonafide dance anthem than Hedges herself.
Loved by all, the larger-than-life Charlie Hedges hosts Radio 1’s iconic Live Lounge alongside Rickie and Melvin, and the biggest dance show in the UK every Saturday night, ‘Dance Anthems’. Featuring 2 hours of Classic Anthems followed by an hour spinning the anthems of today, Charlie is a passionate advocate for the international dance music scene, and a right laugh to boot.
As a club DJ, Charlie has toured the globe playing some of the biggest dance events and festivals. These include a residency with Carl Cox in Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, Isle of Wight Festival, Boardmasters, and a residency at BH Mallorca playing alongside Craig David, Duke Dumont, Steve Aoki, Axwell and Ingrosso.
As a producer, Charlie has released various house tracks on labels such as Spinnin Records, Universal Music and Defected Records. As a remixer, she reworked Ella Henderson & Tom Grennan’s ‘Let’s Go Home Together’ on Atlantic Records, Rudimental’s ‘Ghost’ feat. Hardy Caprio, and Clean Bandit & Topic’s ‘Drive’ feat. Wes Nelson.
Perfect Havoc – a runner-up for Best Independent Record Label at the 2022 Music Week Awards – is one of the most successful indie dance labels of recent years. Its trademark commercial dance with a smattering of the more club-focused sounds has generated the label over 5 billion streams and given rise to six UK Top 20 singles including the No.1 single ‘Head & Heart’ by four-time Brit Award nominated producer, Joel Corry & MNEK.
With a talent-packed schedule for 2022 that also features releases from Just Kiddin, PS1, Austin Millz and many more, Perfect Havoc is guaranteed to serve up a ton of new accessible and underground house sounds from both breaking and established talent.
Electronic, Mainstream Remix, Pop | Melanie Martinez — Dollhouse (One Love Remix)
Posted by jeffwbaird on July 23, 2014
In the not-too-distant past, the production that a rapper could obtain while still positioning themselves as independent artists wasn’t all that important. It was trendy — largely because of Lil Wayne’s Dedication series — for artists to recycle industry beats, and thus they didn’t necessarily need high-quality original production to fuel a career. That tendency has shifted, though, and most successful startups in this market have at least one reliable instrumentalist whose work helps them define their sound. Few, if any, are as gifted and as significant in shaping their overall sound as One Love—best-known as the production half of Kinetics & One Love.
Since K&1L’s critically acclaimed You Are Not Alone released in 2012, One Love has produced for a number of Atlantic Records’ talents, including Neon Hitch and—most recently—Melanie Martinez. Today he’s released his first official remix, to Melanie Martinez’s new single, “Dollhouse”—a song he originally produced as well. While the primary version has accrued over two million views on YouTube already, One Love has utilized the strengths of Melanie’s vocals and reconstructed the darker-themed beat into a summer smash. The increased BPM, coruscating synths, and added melodic qualities of the production entirely change the listening experience, while retaining the meaning of its original. Check out the track below, and follow One Love using the links below.
Electro-House | FNT Premiere: Twenty One Pilots – House Of Gold (Bimbo Jones Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 11, 2014
UK electro / pop trio Bimbo Jones have gotten a stellar reputation for their remixes. This time they have been tabbed by Fueled By Ramen to take on twenty one pilots latest tune “House Of Gold” that is now top 10 on the alt radio in the US. The trio work their magic on “House Of Gold”, keeping much of the vocals, and then adding poppy synth chords with intermittent beefy low end growls that give the tune an aggressiveness not found in the original. Other remixes are to come from Denzal Park, Maor Levi & Mike Hawkins. No release date, but stay tuned for that.

iTunes: Max Elto – Backyard Animals
Saw this video on Facebook, and I’m liking the song a lot. The track is called “Backyard Animals” by Swedish duo Max Elto. The best way to describe their sound is indie-electro, a perfect blend of indie rock and electro. The duo just signed to Big Beat at Atlantic Records, and at the sound of things I’m expecting a bright future for these two! This is a must listen and a must watch!
Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Dzeko & Torres Talk Food, Beginnings, Dance Music in Canada & more in an Interview with FNT
Posted by Middy on December 29, 2012
Canadian duo, Julian Dzeko & Luis Torres, better known as Dzeko & Torres have come a very long way since their single “Confronted” was released on Chuckie’s Dirty Dutch Digital Vol. 4 just a year and a half ago. The long time friends quickly found that working with each other would be the ideal working situation and from there it was only a matter of time before it took off. They were able to grow their profile with free remixes of Monsters and Men “King and Lionheart” and Animal Kingdom “Strange Attractor” that promptly spread like wildfire. They had a track signed to Michael Woods’ Diffused Records, a remix of Trey Songz “Heart Attack” on Atlantic Records, their collab with ANSOL, “Yeah” on Mixmash, and their most recent release, their “Hey EP” on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak imprint.
However, their biggest success was with their remix of Chuckie’s “Who Is Ready To Jump” that even as they said half jokingly “literally I think Afrojack’s mom dropped it”. They were able to get gigs on both sides of the Atlantic, expanding their growing influence outside of the confines of Toronto into London, Miami and elsewhere. Having just signed to AM Only and with consistent support from some of the biggest names in the game like Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Chuckie and others, the sky is the limit for these guys. Start the interview below and check out the rest after the jump as we discuss advise they were given from another DJ, future plans and their love for food. I was talking to both of them at the same time, but it is mainly Luis Torres who was communicating during the interview.
FNT: When did you guys decide that you wanted to work together and make this official?
D&T: It actually started pretty soon after we met. We used to promote and frequent all ages club events in Toronto and we both had a love for house music (i guess people call it EDM now) and then i remember Julian went to a Tiesto show and pretty much as soon as he got home, he was convincing his parents to help him buy some CDJs. I had already been fooling around in FL Studio for a year or 2 and so we decided to start working with eachother and learn off eachother. Took about 2 years of goofing around for us to finally take it seriously though.
FNT: When, if at all did it hit you that doing this could really work?
D&T: I think originally we were just having fun, just doing it because we truly enjoyed it. I never really felt like my goofing around in FL would ever take me anywhere and im sure that Julian didnt think that buying CDJs would get him anywhere either. It took a while, but i think the breakthough point for us was when we started talking to Chuckie and he gave us a release on Dirty Dutch, which at the time was one of our favourite labels and we felt like it was massive for us.
Progressive House | Matchbox Twenty – Put Your Hands Up (Swanky Tunes Remix)
Posted by Middy on December 18, 2012
Russian trio, Swanky Tunes have been putting out songs this year that have been much more aggressive and electro based like “Here We Go“, “Chemistry“, “The Edge”, “Blood Rush” and their more melodic side we saw in previous years was only saw in sporadic productions like “Apogee“. This remix of Matchbox Twenty’s latest single “Put Your Hands Up” off of their recently released album “North”, brings us back to their melodic side in emphatic fashion. Gearing this track towards the arena, Swanky Tunes puts together a remix with a high energy melody and a powerful bass line, letting the vocals shine in the build.
Also do not sleep on the Ludovika night remix that is below. The young Dutch producer is a name that has been getting gigs with some of the biggest names in the industry on both sides of the Atlantic, so look for more of him in years to come.

Dzeko & Torres are some of fastest rising names in the progressive house field. Using free downloads to their advantage, their have garnered support from fans all over the world waiting for their next release, allowing them to now move into the realm of mainstream remixes and productions for large labels. The Canadian duo give Trey Songz a club makeover, keeping the verses and adding big room synths, vocal bits and a fast moving, purposeful bass line to create a euphoric, hands in the air drop.
