Electronic | Lamorn Debuts on mau5trap with “Physical Layer”
Posted by VMan on June 4, 2021
After releasing a slew of official remixes for deadmau5 & Kieza, Judah & The Lion, SHAED & Two Feet, and ATTLAS, an 18-year-old Lamorn excitedly debuts his inaugural mau5trap single. “Physical Layer” is out now via the deadmau5-run imprint, and comes after the boss man himself discovered Lamorn during one of his mau5trap Monday streams. The masked producer says “[Lamorn’s] song ‘Physical Layer’ was so strong I had to ask him to send his session files to make sure it was him. Since then he’s remixed my song with Kiesza ‘Bridged By A Lightwave.’ Excited to welcome him to the mau5trap family and looking forward to much more from him in the near future.”
Alternative | LA Parties Unveils Impressive Debut Single “LA Parties”
Posted by VMan on March 19, 2021
“LA Parties” is a song about looking at the ‘Instagram life’ – what we see on TV and social media – and discerning it as fake. It was written amidst chaos as LA Parties (real name Andy Gorel) was enduring during a very difficult and depressed period of his life. The breakout artist had just turned 20 years old, and had mangled his hand in an accident – leaving him to believe he’d never play music again. “I struggled greatly with how this visual world we live in would see me, and the prospect of not being able to pursue my greatest passion, music,” says Gorel.
That was in September 2017. Gorel spent every moment he could, re-learning how to play the guitar. By March 2018, he had miraculously recovered enough to write “LA Parties” alone in his West Philadelphia apartment. It began with the simple guitar part heard in the intro. Coming off of a booze-packed, party weekend full of new friends and new crush, “LA Parties” came to fruition.
Hitting the ground running, “LA Parties” is the wondrous debut single from LA Parties. A hard-hitting alternative rock single tailor-made for the 2020s, LA Parties is an artist you’re going to want to keep an eye on.

Sitting pretty at the number 5 spot on iTunes top 10 album list, Aer’s self titled album might be taking noobs by storm, but it’s exactly what their loyal fan base has been anticipating. Covering all the bases, the 12-track project is diverse enough to fulfill multiple moods, but stays within the walls of Aer’s self constructed genre. Attributing their success to their organic word-of-mouth FAMily, David and Carter did spend a fair amount of time writing and recording in LA, but finished the album up in their hometown studio…David’s bedroom.
“In the hills or the valley, and were far from the finale, I want this so badly, no I won’t let go.”
Aside from their previously released singles (“Won’t Laugh”, “Spades, Clubs, & Diamonds”, and “Says She Loves Me”), my immediate favorites are “Pretty Lady”, “Stars” and “Movin’ It”. Recline, kick up your feet and enjoy this project while you support the dudes on iTunes.
