Albums, Dubstep, Review | Rusko – Songs (Album)
Posted by Mach on March 27, 2012
I was holding onto this post because there were no preview set to post up of the album. Today Rusko’s album was supposed to drop on beatport, but it has yet to happen. Once it is I will add in a player for you all to hear the tracks. Despite how pissed Rusko is at Mad Decent for allowing full previews being uploaded online of his new album, he still went with the original release plans. Slightly disappointed myself, considering Rusko in his rage was threatening to release the album for free.
With every album as big as this one, there are a few tracks no one is impressed with, but then there are a bunch that are very impressive. Rusko had stated back in November that the idea behind this album was to also give people a few tracks they could dance to. I can definately make out what he was saying. With that said, my favorite track on the album is undoubtably ‘Thunder.’ It is one of the dance tracks Rusko was talking about, something we are not use to from him.
Rusko still stuck with his classy reggae vibe on a good amount of the tracks. ‘Roll Da Beats,’ ‘Mek More Green,’ and ‘Skanker’ are top reggae/dubstep tracks in my opinion, leaving ‘Love No More’ and ‘Be Free’ the reject reggae vibes off this album. People seem to be raving ‘ASAD Car Park,’ but I think there is nothing really exciting about it besides the fact Rusko knows how to make a good bass-line on a drop. I would say the same for ‘M357,’ but then the track got more into its trancy blend which I love. Despite how much the drop makes me think the adults from Charlie Brown, ‘Opium’ is another one of the top tracks on this album. Everyone has already been listening to ‘Somebody To Love’ for the past month so the last track I am mentioning is ‘Dirty Sexy.’ To be honest, the vocals make this track a beast. I have no idea who’s voice these vocals belong to, but I give her a lot of credit for covering Rusko, which she makes seemingly easy. Despite the tracks that I am not wild about on this album, I say this is still a great release from Rusko.

Dubstep, Hip-Hop | Bassnectar – Vava Voom (Ft. Lupe Fiasco)
Posted by Mach on March 26, 2012
Today Bassnectar and Lupe Fiasco dropped their collaboration single off of Bassnectar’s upcoming album, ‘Vava Voom.’ The album art (below) is a trippy play with the lettering, took me a few minutes to figure out the working of the letters…not that I didn’t know it says ‘Vava Voom.’ Lupe joined up with Bassnectar last summer to do Bass Island in NY, which I did not have the chance to go to, but I am sure it is what sparked this sick collaboration. The way they have set up obtaining this track is you have to pre-order the album, kind of sucks, but we don’t make the rules. ‘Vava Voom’ drops April 10th.
Drum & Bass, Dubstep | XYZ: Bassnectar Album Preview, Dirtyloud Preview, and New Tracks From Schoolboy, Skope, & More!

Created for the sole purpose of having so much great music released in a day, XYZ is a post you will almost never see. When you do see it, it means that you are going to want to listen to everything on it. Starting out is the preview for Bassnectar’s upcoming album, ‘VAVA VOOM.’ The track list in order is, Vava Voom (ft. Lupe Fiasco), Empathy, Ugly (ft. Amp Live), Ping Pong, What (ft. Jansten), Pennywise Tribute, Do It Like This (ft. ill.Gates), Laughter Crescendo [2012 Version], Butterfly (ft. Mimi Page), Nothing Has Been Broken (ft. Tina Malia), and Chronological Outtakes. From what I can see, this album will be just as epic as all of Bassnectar’s past albums. ‘VAVA VOOM’ drops April 10th.
This next preview is from those crazy Brazilians, Dirtyloud. This remix is some hot psy-trance/dubstep filth. Sharam himself is pushing this remix hard, and there is no doubt to why. The intro of this remix is ridiculous, the drop will catch you off guard. This remix will be on Sharam’s remixes compilation of ‘Our Love,’ releasing March 27th.

Previews are great and all, but what about the free stuff, those insane tracks you can have right now. Well lucky for us Schoolboy is kicking off the free tracks of XYZ with this incredible remix of Jay-Z & Kanye West’s ‘Why I Love You So.’ Schoolboy has been getting a lot of hype recently, Knife Party has even played his remix of ‘Antidote’ in one of their live sets.

Next freebie takes it down a notch with some lovestep. Antics Records is calling this Skope’s feel good track for the summer. It is always interesting when an artist gives away an original. Most of the time the track will be terrible, but on rare occasions such as this, we have just been given a gem. Show Skope some love on Facebook, this talented guy hasn’t even broken 50 likes yet.

This one is a beast collaboration from Jacob Plant & Majestic. Another awesome original we don’t have to pay for? Couldn’t get better than that. The vocals on this track are sick, but then again they would be nothing without the epic beat they cover.

Dubstep | DJ Fresh – Exhale (Nostalgia Bootleg)
Posted by Mach on March 22, 2012
Thank God for angry musicians, just the other day Rusko went off about how pissed he was at Mad Decent and how he plans to give his new album out for free because of it. Nostalgia leaked out this gem since DJ Fresh dropped it from the ‘Exhale’ release. This track is filthy, leave it to DJ Fresh to screw up an amazing release. Nostalgia turned this into a monster. Like Alvin Risk, Nostalgia is just another nerd with glasses…who likes to make your ears orgasm.
