Hip-Hop | Drake – 5AM In Toronto (prod. by Boi-1da)
Posted by W8 on March 7, 2013
Allow me to preface this post by saying, everybody is entitled to their own opinion as am I. Drake goes viral regardless of any blog so why not take this opportunity to share my thoughts. As the clock strikes 5AM here in Toronto, I don’t like this track. ”5AM In Toronto” bleeds pints of emotion, it’s got mad lyricism, and I get all that. I’m not even saying that I have something opposed to what we have here. I just don’t feel like I know what’s good anymore, and to be perfectly honest; I don’t think you do either. Everyone is starving for nutriance, and these organic vocal dosages give us life. Staring through the mirror into an artist’s life makes us feel like we have a friend, and because of this I’m usually sufficing thoughts like ‘Who is this guy talking to‘. We like hearing voices, and if that sounds crazy, well… yes it is. Anyways, I think this is what we’ve all been waiting for so allow me to contradict myself, my name is W8!
Late last night Young Money’s own Drake followed up his earlier smash hit ”Started From The Bottom” with more heat entitled ”5AM In Toronto”. The way Drake manages to feature on his own track is remarkable. His third studio album is presumably set to drop this summer.

Albums, Progressive House, Review | Dirty South – Speed Of Life (Album Review)
Posted by Middy on March 6, 2013
Serbian born, Australian native Dragan Roganovic, better known to the world for the past decade as Dirty South has finally released his debut artist album “Speed Of Life” after countless singles, EPs, collaborations and remixes. The album is where his sound is at this present moment, but it is also a culmination of everything he has done to this point and how he has evolved and grown as an artist. There is no doubt that if he had written this 2 or 5 years ago, the album would have sounded totally different, and we are grateful that he took the time to wait and mature to venture into the difficult, arduous, yet rewarding process of creating an album. The 45 minutes containing “Speed Of Life” have no wasted second, every bit has a purpose and there is no song that seems to be a filler. This carefully crafted album may leave you wishing there was more at the end, but isn’t that a good thing, or at least a whole lot better then you wishing there was less.
Albums, Review, Trance | Anjunabeats Volume 10 (Review)
Posted by Middy on March 5, 2013
While Anjunabeats Volume 9 seemed to have a noticeable difference between the two CDs, the landmark 10th volume found a way to make it seem as though there was no distinction between the two CDs and created a smooth, uplifting journey that transcends traditional genre barriers and shows the direction of Above & Beyond’s flagship label into the future as one that is forward thinking and defies labels. The compilation features tracks from familiar faces on the label like Maor Levi, Norin & Rad, Andrew Bayer, Jaytech, Arty, Oliver Smith and Kyau & Albert, while giving the chance for many others to shine on this 2 CD, 30 track album. Above & Beyond do a flawless job of mixing between tracks, making the intros and outros between songs seamless and almost not noticeable. Grab a copy below and start listening to the tracks below. Read on to dive into the review of the full compilation.
Interviews | Norin & Rad Interview (FNT Exclusive)

Bruce Karlsson (Norin) & Nick Sember (Rad) better known as Norin & Rad to most of you have become one of the brightest stars in the American trance scene. The two Northern California natives met several years back through mutual friends and since their first single “The Gift”, their career trajectory has only been upward. After releases on Tritonal’s Air Up There label, Enhanced and Coldharbour, they were taken under the guise of Above & Beyond and signed to Anjunabeats. Their single “Bloom” announced their arrival to the trance community that they were a name that needed to be watched.
They have a unique and varied sound that is the archetype of the new blend of trance and house that pervades the trance genre now. The duo have gone from being college students to playing festivals like Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo and EDC in a few short years. Coming off of a strong 2012 with a slew of releases on Anjunabeats, they are set for an even bigger year in 2013 with an album in the works that they say has some “really interesting material” and a single “Aldo” coming this Monday on the Anjunabeats Volume 10. We had the chance to ask them about being a part of the Anjunabeats family, their album and their working relationship. Check out their recent free track “Snap” below and the interview after the jump.
