Posted by VMan on May 31, 2019
Self titled ’empathy pop’ band HOAX released a new indie-alternative rock single called “Could” and it’s the first piece of music from the group in over a year. Quite an exciting for the rising act as this is the first single off their debut album, b? “Could” is one of the catchiest rock songs I’ve heard in a while, and it is so warm. HOAX’s project, b?, took two years to create and follows the narratives of 13 different characters that have been thrown together in the aftermath of an otherworldly series of events. Stream HOAX’s new single above now and stay tuned for their debut LP b? due out soon enough.
Bass, Dubstep | Black Tiger Sex Machine’s LP New Worlds Extends Beyond Music
Posted by VMan on March 8, 2018
When people release albums, they tend to be a simple collection of records that they’ve been working on over the course of a set period of time. With Black Tiger Sex Machine, that’s sort of the case, but the Kannibalen Records trio do more than just create a solid album with New Worlds. With this project the group built a section of their own universe, full of tales and adventures that live through the each single. The New Worlds concept album shows just what can be done with bass music – it almost feels like a sci-fi score rather than an “EDM” album. Leave it to BTSM to do something this incredible. Check out the album and make sure to check them out on their Ceremony tour that just started if they make a stop near you!
Chill, Indie | Kai Straw Exceeds All Expectation With GUN LP
Posted by VMan on February 7, 2018
Kai Straw’s album GUN is something I’ve been waiting on since I heard the first single several months ago. A couple other singles have made their way out since then and they had me at the edge of my seat. The thing is when you anticipate something, you create an expectation for it. Whatever I had in mind was completely shattered when I ran through this LP the first time. It’s just incredible. The song writing is as good as it gets and Kai gracefully bounces between genres on this one making it a journey from start to finish. If you could only listen to one album this week, you’d make it this one.
Pop | Pop Princess Taylor Grey Releases Debut LP Space Case
Posted by VMan on June 20, 2017
Pop music is all over the place nowadays, but Taylor Grey is ringing it in with her vision of where the all encompassing “pop” genre can go. She’s recently delivered her debut LP, Space Case, with a dozen songs on the tracklist. The album take influence from a wide range of genres, but hones in one the pop meets dance music sound that so many people are trying to nail nowadays. Taylor is one of the few really nailing it though. I can’t remember the last time I ran through an entire pop album like this, but I did. Call it a guilty pleasure – whatever you deem it, it’s a good one.
