DJ-Set, Progressive House, Trance | MoiezMusic Ep #001 + Let’s Go & Climax Remixes

Posted by on July 24, 2012

Canadian producer, Moiez is back again this time with an hour long mix that exemplifies his varied taste and sound from Trance to Progressive and Electro House. He selects tracks like the Heatbeat remix of “Suddenly Summer“, Tommy Trash’s Bootleg, “Unite Kids” and many of his own originals and remixes, including premiering a new remix, adding to his growing discography. Tracklist after the jump. Also included are the previously posted remixes of “Let’s Go” and the Diplo produced Usher track “Climax” that are now available for free download after their entry in remix competitions. Not really sure how they did not do better in their respective competitions, but I am not the judge.

Progressive House | Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (Moiez Extended Remix)

Posted by on July 15, 2012

Though Moiez is just 20 and has only been seriously producing for a bit over a year, his sound has a level of maturity that you would find in renowned veterans of the game. Moiez continues his recent string of originals and remixes with the recent Ellie Goulding single “Hanging On” with Tinie Tempah (though he is absent in the remix) and though it is slightly unfair to remix an Ellie Goulding track because her voice makes remixes so easy, he creates melodies that generate a new level of emotion in the track. The track starts slow with a soft piano melody, steady bass line and Ellie Goulding’s angelic vocals and then adds blissful synth chords with a thumping bass line that takes the track to another stratosphere.

Progressive House | Moiez – Flight

Posted by on June 24, 2012

Moiez continues to impress with constancy as a young up and coming producer, where usually there are some duds that come out of the production lab, I have not heard one yet in the latest string of releases. “Flight” could be his best production yet, up there with “Spark“, giving us the uplifting progressive sounds we know this 19 year old Canadian can churn out. Female vocals accompany a euphoric melody of driving synth chords with subtle, well timed stutters and a thumping clap, while a soft melodic interlude brings us to an even bigger and louder second break. Great production all around from Moiez and it is free, so you have no excuse not to hit the download button.

Progressive House | Zedd Feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Moiez Remix)

Posted by on June 22, 2012

Canadian producer Moiez has released his remix of Zedd’s “Spectrum” luckily for us before the announcement of the “Spectrum” Beatport remix contest that will inevitably be filling up my inbox in the coming days. Moiez keeps the emotion of the track and adds his melodic flare to it by tinkering only slightly with the build and then reconstructing almost entirely the drop into a peak time, hands in the air break of a driving, clap dominating bass line, melodic synth chords and rising synths. If you didn’t check out his previous tracks do so and from the looks of it, we have something good brewing here with this young Canadian.

Progressive House, Trance | Introducing : Moiez

Posted by on May 22, 2012

It is really rare that I get a submission that makes me sit back in my chair and say “wow” and 19 year old Vancouver native Moiez Babar or Moiez did just that. With a combination of uplfiting trance and moving progressive tracks, Moiez is an artist that will we will be keeping an eye on. Judging by the soundcloud plays, this is a true introduction to the world for Moiez and his deftly crafted productions, though he has had some exposure in Canada. The two originals really stood out to me with “Sparks” being more along the lines of progressive house track and “Kismet” being more of a progressive trance track. They were both submitted to Tristan Garner’s Xtra Life contest, so if you read this Mr. garner pick Moiez.

“Spark” provides thoughtful vocals with a smooth build that cascades into a break of thumping bass, vocals, and synth chords creating a hands in the air melody. “Kismet” is more trancey with a quicker trance oriented bass line, soft, thoughtful interludes, quick key play with long synth chords and a driving bass line in the drop. The remixes are not to overlooked as well. Though Axwell & Henrik B will always remain kings for their remode on “Teenage Crime”, Moiez delivers a solid take on it. “Flashback” keeps much of the original melody, though he distorts it some to create a more fluid synth melody, while utilizing those very recognizable vocals. “Till Tonight” may be the best one, though it takes a while to reach the break. Also included is a teaser of his “Let’s Go” remix, which is being featured in the Beatport contest. If you like what you hear there, follow the link below and listen to the whole thing on the Beatport page and vote for it there. Check out his soundcloud for more tracks that range from trance to dubstep. Some of the tracks mentioned included after the jump.

Progressive House | Zedd – Find You (Martell Bootleg)

Zedd - Find You (Martell Bootleg)

At the moment, I am sitting at my desk with the adjacent window open like not even a lot. The breeze is pretty cold though, but if I close it my room will probably get too warm to comfortably apply too much cologne when I go out. I guess what I’m getting at is, because of the cold air currently infiltrating me, there has been some shrinkage. Shrinkage pertaining to the number of remixes to Zedd’s “Find You” I can post. I already posted Moiez’s and because nobody wants to listen to the same song remixed a million times, I was not planning on posting anymore. When I woke up this morning, I was not expecting all three black guys at my work to initiate a fist bump with me but they did, or to be posting another remix to this song.

The obviously Swedish producer, Martell, is the guy who convinced me to do so. This is his first release since his remix of Klingande’s “Jubel” and like that track, this one too is carried by an excellent melody. The melodic components of this song are just so good and while, yes, I would have preferred different vocals, this is still a play worthy track.

Electro-House | Maddix – Touching the Sky

Maddix - Touching the Sky

Usually when I sift through my inbox, it is generic press emails, decent to pretty bad music or a ridiculous email from The Chainsmokers (heart hands), and after a while I just get audio fatigue trying to manage it. However, when I come across something like this, like when I first heard Vicetone, or Stephen Swartz or Moiez, I knew I there was real talent. Dutchman Pablo Rindt or Maddix has been in the producing game now for a few years, mainly doing DJ-ready bootlegs and the occasional remix, but to be honest nothing that noteworthy, until now.

However, coming from that country where electronic music talent is as common as their cloudy days (hence why they flee to the French Riveria in the summer), it is not surprising that he would be able to hone his craft over the past year, culminating in this outstanding original. The track borders along the lines of melodic and electro, blending them together at once, with high-octane breaks and soothing interludes. What makes this even better is that it is free and there is more coming from Maddix. The free download includes the more DJ-friendly original mix. Do yourself the favor and grab it now.
