For anyone who has been a follower of Mansions on the Moon, it is a very exciting time. Though they’ve had solid releases in the past, nothing has been quite as epic as what is about to happen. They’ve teased us with the collaborative mix they did with DJ Benzi and taunted us with their EP released almost a year ago now, but for the very first time ever Mansions on the Moon is releasing an ALBUM. They’ve let us get a little glimpse for the rest to come with the release of “Don’t Tell“, and now “Somewhere Else Tonight”. Though the songs take completely different turns, the album as a whole is to be nothing less of an accomplishment. For now you can sit on these two singles, but make sure to catch the release of their self-titled album because its gonna be BIG.
Electronic, Indie, Pop | Kavalier – Better (ft. Elias)

After a beautiful cover for the summer smash “Rather Be”, the boys of Kavalier have returned with their first original, “Better”. The song is another upbeat and radio-ready single. However, despite the feeling that this song could fit perfectly in Top 40s music, it deviates from the all-to-familiar formula that clogs the airwaves nowadays.
The track features vocal help from Elias, a friend and previous collaborator of Kavalier. Just two songs deep, the duo is sure to make some splashes these coming months, so stay tuned and enjoy!

UK band Young Kato might be one of the most exciting acts I’ve featured on FNT, and although I’m not quite sure where they came from, I fell on their latest single “Sunshine” by accident, and I’m glad I did, these guys have the potential to be huge with their indie-pop sound, and if this track doesn’t do it for them, I guarantee you their EP will make heads turn. Granted the wave will be gin in the UK before the hype makes it way into the US, make sure you let them know where you heard if first. This is a must listen and a must download!

The day that Dave Edwards releases originals, is the day the Top 40 charts will never be the same again, because his sound is a hit waiting to happen. A&R’s reading this, mark my words. Having sent over his latest remix of Chris Brown’s “Loyal,” it’s like he brought a beach party to the office, with his buddies Chris Brown and Lil Wayne, and allotment of sexy women. I’m big into pop, progressive house, and large women talking to me. Not even joking about that last one, cause I like talking to everyone. I am constantly stocked up on progressive house tracks, but I am not as deep into the pop realm as I’d like to be. I go in a little bit, then out for a brief moment, then back in, then pretty much repeat that for a while. John Cena knows. Smallpools is one of the few who can keep me in there – I’m a huge fan of them – so I was happy to see that they released a new song. “Killer Whales” is great and has the same upbeat and fast paced feel as all their previous stuff. While it may not be their best track, it is still quality and definitely worth a listen for all you indie-pop lovers out there.

In the not-too-distant past, the production that a rapper could obtain while still positioning themselves as independent artists wasn’t all that important. It was trendy — largely because of Lil Wayne’s Dedication series — for artists to recycle industry beats, and thus they didn’t necessarily need high-quality original production to fuel a career. That tendency has shifted, though, and most successful startups in this market have at least one reliable instrumentalist whose work helps them define their sound. Few, if any, are as gifted and as significant in shaping their overall sound as One Love—best-known as the production half of Kinetics & One Love.
Since K&1L’s critically acclaimed You Are Not Alone released in 2012, One Love has produced for a number of Atlantic Records’ talents, including Neon Hitch and—most recently—Melanie Martinez. Today he’s released his first official remix, to Melanie Martinez’s new single, “Dollhouse”—a song he originally produced as well. While the primary version has accrued over two million views on YouTube already, One Love has utilized the strengths of Melanie’s vocals and reconstructed the darker-themed beat into a summer smash. The increased BPM, coruscating synths, and added melodic qualities of the production entirely change the listening experience, while retaining the meaning of its original.
