Brenton has been slowly getting back on his grind lately, sampling, reworking, and remixing hits. Explaining that sometimes he just wakes up and the music comes naturally, banging out tracks like this in one day, if he’s motivated, he’s on point. Here he samples “Get the Money,” by PANTyRAiD, keeping the vocals from Gym Class Heroes’s lead, Travie McCoy. No word whether Brenton is working on an official project yet, but he’s definitely still making music as it comes to him.

After dropping banger after banger on us over the course of 2011, Aylen is starting off 2012 right, with a massive mixtape. Here is what he had to say about it:
The end of 2011 was a very exciting time for me and I’m eager to bring in 2012 the same way I left off. Today, I’m proud to announce the release of my free remix album titled The ReMixtape. At 11 tracks, The ReMixtape includes 7 remixes, 3 mashups and 1 re-fix that span electro, progressive, moombahton, with a hint of dutch.
Here are a few of my favorite tracks, but the whole project is definitely worth a listen.

Well, we (I), dropped the ball with this one and completely forgot to post our very own Kap Slap’s latest single, “Sexy Jello.” Kap Slap delivers yet again with another track to keep the party going (or get it started). DOSVEC just dropped this crazy house banger mashup. Using Archie.V’s new instrumental track, Our World, and adding the final piece to it, DOSVEC picked the perfect vocals to make this amazing. The mashup reflects 3 great vocals, turning the instrumental gem into a heart pounding banger. The accompanying video really sets the mood of the mashup. Let the good times roll.

I honestly thought this song would never be able to be remixed better than the one Macklemore did with Fences. I don’t know if it’s better but its pretty close to it. Not only does DJ 21azy give us a phenomenal remix, he adds Macklemore’s live version of the Otherside verses to add more emphasis and emotion. It’s almost life changing…I’ll let you decide ha. Mashups | Doug Bogan – I Can’t Let You Go

There has been a rumbling this week throughout the blog community regarding the overuse of samples and a general lack of creativity present in mashups of late. Doug Bogan heard those thoughts and took them to heart. For his latest track, Doug tried to break this trend and incorporate a truly unique set of samples:
I believe most listeners will be hard pressed to find some of these samples present in many, if any pre-existing mashups. Using Araabmuzik’s I Can’t Let It Go as a bumping backing track, I then added in verses from B.o.B. and J.Cole with Aesop Rock, Ellie Goulding and Jay-Z and Kanye West also present throughout the track.
